Re: Row_Count_Heart_Afghan_Square
Hello
I have tried two of your patterns. The heart and the breast cancer square. I followed both patterns without difficulty, but neither of my were 7x7. I used a smaller needle and thinner yarn , but mine is still 7x12. Can you tell what I am doing wrong. My needle size is F/5-3.75mm.
Thanks for your help
Lucy
<< reply >>
Not sure what would make your squares not be square.
Changing the yarn and hook size should only make the square
a different size.. not change the actual shape.
Can you send me a picture?
Re: ReadAPattern
I have a pattern that says to ch17 (35,53).
I understand the chain 17 part but what do the numbers in parenthesis mean?
Linda
<< reply >>
>>> ch17 (35,53).
This means you chain 17 for the first size... 35 for the next size and 53 for the largest size
of your pattern. So the number of chains you begin with depends on the size you are making.

I notice this pattern only has instructions for infants. Do you by chance have it for toddlers?
Sharon Gauthier

This isn't my pattern but you can make it larger by working additional increases like you do in rounds 3 and 4. Tips are listed on down the page of how to make the bow and ears larger also.

RE: has anyone crocheted the ruffled doll skirt. Having a problem with r,1. waist band
Janice Rono
Comments:
For Row one on the Waist Band you begin by making 4 chains... work a single crochet in the second chain from the hook. Then work a single crochet in each of the remaining chains. You should have 3 single crochet stitches once you complete the row. http://www.crochetnmore.com/ruffleddollskirt.htm

Re: Thanks for the pattern!!
I just wanted to thank you for the doggie sweater pattern. I was able
to modify it to fit my very over weight minpin! She does not fit into
traditional sweaters they are either to small around or way too long.
Using your pattern, I was able to make one narrow enough around the neck
to fit her and big enough around without covering her rump. I will send
a picture once I get the finishing touches done. Thank you once again!!
Beth

You're very welcome Beth.
So glad the pattern worked up well for you.
Can’t wait to see the picture!

Have made abc afghan many times but tried to make the heart in the corners but the pattern does not come out right. Any help out there? Thanks.
Mary Wallace
Comments:
The Puff Stitch Heart Afghan Square is the same size as one square (not counting the puff divider stitches) of the ABC Afghan and should be easily inserted into the graph in place of an existing square.

Note: The photo on the pattern page does not match the pattern in regard to the number of puff stitches. I will make another square and add a new photo later.

Comment:
Was this an afghan square pattern or a pattern for a full afghan? If you know when you saw it you might try checking your browser history. In the meantime... there's a beautiful Gumdrop Afghan pattern available for sale here:

RE: How to Crochet - Tips about Baby's ABC's Afghan
For some odd reason im having an issue with row 28, my count is right but ithe puff stitch is not lining up in row 28 with the other puff stitch rows below :/
AnilaHairTV
Comments:
Think of the afghan in terms of separate squares... each square should be 27 stitches wide between the vertical puff stitch columns and 27 stitches tall between the horizontal puff stitch rows. When you work the horizontal divider rows the puff stitches should align with the vertical puff stitch rows.

RE: How to Crochet - Bobble Stitch
Thank you for a clear, to the point video. I was getting sick of all the 10-15 min videos when all I wanted was the actual stitch.

Subject: Double_Ruffle_Granny_Baby_Afghan
Hi,
I think your double ruffle baby afghan is soo pretty! Do you think it would work to make it triple ruffle? That is take what you have and put a pink ruffle on each side making the white ruffle be in the middle. The center is double yarn, pink and white. It looks very similar to your pic, i.e. open weave.
Be blessed with His favor.
Blessings, Teri

Thank you.
A triple ruffle sounds beautiful... have you actually crocheted a triple ruffle on this pattern?

This book
is a wonderful addition to any crochet library.
I've had numerous requests over the years of what to crochet for
boys.
Crobots are definitely the answer!
This 96-page book is filled with numerous types of Crobot patterns
as well as well-illustrated instructions for the
crochet stitches, assembly stitches and other embellishments used
in the patterns.
The patterns are well written, some of the book is written in a
small font but the pictures are wonderful. NOTE:
This book comes to you with a safety warning regarding the small
parts used in the patterns.

"Laughter is an instant vacation." - Milton Berle
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Every year on my birthday, I looked forward to my aunt's
gift...a scarf, hat, gloves or sweater knitted by hand. One year, she must have had better things to do because
I received a ball of yarn, knitting needles, and a
how-to-knit book. Her card read:
"Hat, some assembly
required."
When the patient was wheeled into the delivery room,
she told me,
"I remember you from the last time I
gave birth."
I was thrilled, especially since it had been a few
years.
"Do you really remember me?" I asked, milking
it.
"Yes. You're the nurse who ate all my candy."
When Alexandra, my niece, was preparing for her
first day of school, she confided in her mom that
she was concerned about how her cousin Thomas's
behavior in the classroom might reflect on her.
"He burps and screams, he won't listen and he won't
sit still," she lamented.
"Well, how did it go at school?" her mom asked her
when she picked Alexandra up at the end of the day. "Did Thomas do anything to embarrass you?"
"Oh, no," Alexandra replied. "All the boys are
like that!"
Noah made cookies with his Grandma Sue for Easter, and he really wanted to make a cookie for Jesus. He brought it home and his mom, Becky, wrapped the yellow frosted bunny cookie in plastic wrap and put it in the freezer until the second coming.
When Becky reminded Noah that when Jesus comes back they will go to heaven, Noah said, "That's OK. He can still stop by our freezer and get a snack!"
As I was admitted to the hospital prior to a
procedure, the clerk asked for my wrist, saying,
"I'm going to give you a bracelet."
"Has it got rubies and diamonds?" I asked coyly.
"No," he said. "But it costs just as much."
When Annie was planning her upcoming wedding,
she asked to wear her mother's wedding dress.
She went to try it on and the gown was a
perfect fit on her petite frame.
As her mother's eyes welled up with tears,
Annie put an arm around her.
"You're not losing a daughter", she reminded
her mother in time-honored fashion,
"you're gaining a son."
"Oh forget about that!" said her mother
with a sob,
"I used to fit into that dress!"
A little boy was fascinated as he watched his
mother smooth cold cream on her face.
"Mommy," he asked, "why do you put that stuff
on your face?"
"To make myself beautiful," his mother replied
as she began removing the cream with a tissue.
"What's the matter?" asked Little Johnny. "Are
you giving up?"
Two young boys were spending the night at their
grandparents' house. At bedtime, the two boys
knelt beside their beds to say their prayers.
The youngest one began praying at the top of his
lungs,
"I PRAY FOR A NEW BICYCLE.
I PRAY FOR A
NEW NINTENDO.
I PRAY FOR A NEW DVD PLAYER..."
The older brother leaned over and nudged the
younger brother and said,
"Why are you shouting
your prayers? God isn't deaf."
To which the little brother replied, "No, but
Grandma is!"
I was walking to lunch with my friend Tristan and discussing
the need to start an exercise program. A mutual friend, Chris,
joined us on the walk and after listening to Tristan and I
talk about fitness, Chris said, "I'm exercising every day."
"You're exercising?" we asked. "Daily?"
"Yeah!" he replied. "I swim after work on Mondays, Wednesdays
and Fridays.
And I run on Tuesdays and Thursdays."
We stopped walking, and I asked Chris, "How long have you been doing this?"
"Oh, I don't start until next week!" he replied.
Grandpa tells of the time his six-year-old grandson found a penny and proudly showed it to his grandmother.
"What's so great about finding a penny?" she asked. "You can't buy anything with it."
"Yes you can," he said. "You can buy a dream in a wishing well."
I heard recently about a stay-at-home Mom. One evening she went to a PTA meeting and her husband and her oldest daughter got together and decided they would clean up the kitchen for her. They put up all the food, wiped all the counters, washed all the pots and put them away, put the dishes in the dishwasher and ran it. They swept and mopped the floors and then sat down, and awaited her arrival.
Two hours later she returned from the meeting, took off her coat, hung it up, walked through the kitchen into the den, grabbed the remote control, and began watching television. They followed her over to her chair and stood by her side. Finally she felt them looking over her shoulder and looked up at them and said, “What?”
Her husband said, “The kitchen.”
“The kitchen. What?”
“The kitchen. We cleaned up the kitchen. Didn’t you notice?
It’s sparkling clean. We cleaned it for you.”
The woman replied, “Yes, I noticed. Thankless job, isn’t it?”
A little boy came home from Sunday School and went into his room to change clothes.
When he emerged, he asked his mother, "Is it true that we came from dust?"
His mother replied, "Yes, dear. God made us from dust."
The kid ran back into his room and came out all excited:
"Mom, I just looked under my bed, and there's somebody either coming or going!"
