QUESTION

Re: cowboy boot booties

Do you have a video for cowboy booties? I think they are adorable.
I'm left handed so it's hard to find videos that are for lefty's.
Thanks. Carlene

ANSWER

Sorry, I do not have a pattern or video for crocheted cowboy booties.

You can find many left handed videos for various styles of baby booties via this link:

“Do your little bit of good where you are; it's those little
bits of good put together that overwhelm the world.”

~~ Desmond Tutu ~~

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Be careful to listen to all these words which I command you, in order that it may be well with you and yoru sons after you forever, for you will be doing what is good and right in the signt of the Lord your God.

Deuteronomy 12:28

You shall appoint for yourself judges and officers in all your towns which the Lord your God is giving you, according to your tribes, and they shall judge the people with righteous judgment.

Deuteronomy 16:18

Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, When it is in your power to do it.

Proverbs 3:27

And departing from there, He went into their synagogue. And behold, there was a man with a withered hand. And they questioned Him, saying, "Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?"-- in order that they might accuse Him. And He said to them, "What man shall there be among you, who shall have one sheep, and if it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will he not take hold of it, and lift it out? Of how much more value then is a man than a sheep! So then, it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath." Then He said to the man, "Stretch out your hand!" And he stretched it out, and it was restored to normal, like the other.

Matthew 12:9-13

Now when Jesus was in Bethany, at the home of Simon the leper, a woman came to Him with an alabaster vial of very costly perfume, and she poured it upon His head as He reclined at the table. But the disciples were indignant when they saw this, and said, "Why this waste? For this perfume might have been sold for a high price and the money given to the poor." But Jesus, aware of this, said to them, "Why do you bother the woman? For she has done a good deed to Me. For the poor you have with you always; but you do not always have Me. For when she poured this perfume upon My body, she did it to prepare Me for burial. Truly I say to you, wherever this gospel is preached in the whole world, what this woman has done shall also be spoken of in memory of her."

Matthew 26:6-13

But I say to you who hear, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.

Luke 6:27-28

And let the one who is taught the word share all good things with him who teaches. Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh shall from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit shlal from the Spirit reap eternal life. And let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we shall reap if we do not grow weary. So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all men, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith.

Galatians 6:6-10

Instruct those who are rich in this present world not to be conceited or to fix their hope on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly supplies us with all things to enjoy. Instruct them to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share, storing up for themselves the treasure of a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is life indeed.

1 Timothy 6:17-19

And do not neglect doing good and sharing; for with such sacrifices God is pleased.

Hebrews 13:16

Little children, let us not love with word or with tongue, but in deed and truth. We shall know by this that we are of the truth, and shall assure our heart before Him, in whatever our heart condemns us; for God is greater than our heart, and knows all things.

1 John 3:18-20

CROCHET TIP

A pencil cup or pencil box is a great way to keep track of your crochet hooks.
An extra pencil cup is a good way to keep track of your hooks.
Several years ago I purchased several plastic pencil boxes which had an additional compartment on the top of the lid. These are wonderful for storing yarn needles, stitch markers, and other notions while the larger compartment is great for hooks, scissors, tape measure.

RE: Row_Count_Paw_Print_Afghan_Square

How do you switch colors? Do you tie off each time you switch colors?
I'm looking to do your paw print design & want to make sure I do it right.
Thank you!

Our video for the Row Count Purple Heart Coaster pattern shows how I
do color changes:

Color changes are the same in all of my row count patterns.
I never cut a color until I finish with it.
I carry the unused color along to the point where I will need it again for
the next row, then drop it so I can pick it up on the way back.

Re: ReadAPattern

In Lion Brand’s pattern #just Wrap (Magic chevrons), at the end of rows2,3 &4 the pattern reads;
”Turn-5 chains 2-spaces”. What does this mean?
Thank-you for your response. Jeanne

<< Reply >>

That is only there as a reference... when you finish each of those rows you should have five chain 2 spaces.
In other words, you made two chains on that particular row five different times.

I'm making baby beanies as part of an Eastern Star function and I happened to come by your "Baby Beanie" pattern. I made it. I never knew how to do a reverse single crochet. I never knew there was such a stitch and I've been crocheting for over 50 years. I am totally in love with this stitch and I just had to drop you a line to tell you Thank You.

Thank you so much... I'm glad you enjoyed the pattern as well as learned a new stitch.

Thanks in advance for your advice. sherry stern

This is Lisa... and yes, this would make a nice afghan. You can make the table runner pattern as is and then join multiple runners to make an afghan. I think it would look very nice in different colors. Enjoy the beach!

Subject: Table_Runner

Just have a quick question. I have watched you YouTube video and in the beginning you say to work the first double into the second hump in the foundation and the. You change it to the fourth hump. The written pattern also says fourth hump. Could you please clarify which I am suppose to do?
J Miller

<< Reply >>

I sure did say that incorrectly... thanks for pointing that out to me.
You work into the fourth chain from the hook to begin the pattern.

This book is a wonderful addition to any crochet library.
I've had numerous requests over the years of what to crochet for boys.
Crobots are definitely the answer!
This 96-page book is filled with numerous types of Crobot patterns as well as well-illustrated instructions for the
crochet stitches, assembly stitches and other embellishments used in the patterns.
The patterns are well written, some of the book is written in a small font but the pictures are wonderful. NOTE: This book comes to you with a safety warning regarding the small parts used in the patterns.
Therefore, please use your own discretion as to the age of the child you intend the gift for.

A grandmother is giving directions to her grown grandson who is coming to visit with his wife.

"You come to the front door of the apartment. I am in apartment 301. There is a big panel at the front door. With your elbow, push button 301. I will buzz you in. Come inside, the elevator is on the right. Get in, and with your elbow push 3. When you get out, I'm on the left. With your elbow, hit my doorbell."

"Grandma, that sounds easy, but, why am I hitting all these buttons with my elbow?

"What?! You coming empty handed?"

Garbage collectors were picking up our trash as my wife walked back into our house. A
particular barrel was very heavy. “Lady, we can’t take this,” one man called out. “It’s way over the weight limit.”

My wife turned her eight-month-pregnant figure toward him. “It didn’t seem that heavy when I carried it out,” she said.

Without another word, the man emptied the barrel into the truck.

My mother was a kindergarten teacher and had, had many
young students who had difficulty sharing or working
in a group because they were used to being treated like
royalty by their family.

Visiting her one summer, my mother overheard my husband
call our four-year-old daughter, Kari-Beth, by the name
of Princess.

"Please don't call her that!" Mom said. "Do you know how
many little girls come to school thinking they really are
princesses?"

I laughed, turned to my daughter and said, "Kari-Beth
tell Grandma why Dad calls you princess."

Kari-Beth looked up from her coloring and replied,
"Because my mom is the queen!"

My mother and my wife, both nurses were shopping together
when a woman in a nearby dressing room fell unconscious. Mom
discovered that the woman wasn't breathing, so she and my
wife started CPR and revived the shopper just as paramedics
arrived.

They loaded the woman onto a gurney and were rolling her out
of the store when she yelled, "Stop!"

My mother and my wife thought maybe she wanted to thank them,
but instead she said, "I still want to buy those dresses."

About four years ago Linda's grandson Ean (now 12) from Tennessee
was visiting (along with Linda's daughter and son-in-law) at
Christmas time.

One day they enjoyed an outing to a pizza place with games and
prizes. When they returned, Ean proudly displayed a ukulele he
had gotten with the tickets he won.

Linda explained to him that the ukulele comes to us from Hawaii.

Ean looked at his instrument, turned it over, and said, "Not
mine. It came from China!"

My son, Scott, an insurance broker in Florida, loves ocean fishing and takes his cell phone along on the boat. One morning we were drifting about ten miles offshore as Scott discussed
business on the phone.

Suddenly his rod bent double, and the reel screamed as line poured off the spool. Scott was master of the situation. "Pardon me," he told his customer calmly. "I have a call on another line."

An eccentric philosophy professor gave a one-question final exam after a semester dealing with a broad array of topics.

The class was already seated and ready to go when the professor picked up his chair, plopped it on his desk, and wrote on the board: "Using everything we have learned this semester, prove that this chair does not exist."

Fingers flew, erasers erased, and notebooks were filled in furious fashion. Some students wrote over 30 pages in one hour attempting to refute the existence of the chair. One member of the class, however, was up and finished in less than a minute.

Weeks later when the grades were posted, the rest of the group wondered how he could have gotten an "A" when he had barely written anything at all. His answer consisted of two words:

"What chair?"

I was waiting outside the men's dressing room while
my husband tried on some shirts when I overheard a
couple arguing about sizes: "These pants you picked
out are big enough for an elephant," the man complained
to his wife.

But he took the slacks into the dressing room anyway.

A little later he emerged looking sheepish, and said,
"Got any peanuts?"

During his sermon, our pastor quoted Matthew 19:19, "Love
your neighbor as yourself." To emphasize the point, he asked
three times, with increasing intensity: "Who is my neighbor?
Who is my neighbor? Who is my neighbor?!"

Each time he asked, a young boy behind us answered (mimicking
the pastor's intensity, but not quite as loud): "Mister Rogers!
Mister Rogers! Mister Rogers!"

Diagnosing my problem as water on the knee, the doctor
prescribed complete bed rest. When we got home, my husband
set me up in a lounge chair and brought my knitting and
some books.

As he packed ice around my knee, he said, "Now, honey, I
don't want you to move until it's time to get dinner ready."

Recently a young woman came into my father's insurance
office with her newborn twins.

Dad asked her if she ever had any trouble telling them
apart.

She gave him a funny look before responding, "No, I haven't
had any problem. This is Benjamin, and this is Elizabeth."

A five-year-old boy surprised his father one day
by saying, "I guess I'll go outdoors and play ball
with God."

"Tell me, how do you play ball with God?" asked
the father.

"Oh, it's not hard at all," said the boy.

"I just throw the ball up and God throws it back
down to me."
