Scrap Happy Afghan Square Free Crochet Pattern

Measures 6" x 6"


The following pattern is my original design.
Please only copy or print this pattern for personal use.
Please contact me if you find any errors.

MATERIALS:

Red Heart Super Saver-4ply worsted weight
(I used a small amount of five different colors... you can use 11)
Abbreviations for colors:
     CA - Blue
     CB - White
     CC - Burgundy
     CD - Grey

     CE - Green


Hook Size I/9 5.50MM

Stitches: ch, sc, sl st, dc, fdc, fpdc, ldc.

Difficulty:  MEDIUM


NOTE: All rows and rounds are worked from the right side.

R1: With CA, ch4 and complete 14 Fdcs. [Right Side]
Note: Three chains of the beginning ch4 count as 1dc.
Fasten off.

R2: With CB, join with a dc in the first st.
(Ldc in base of next st. Dc in next st.) across (15sts)

Fasten off.

R3: With CC, join with a sc in the first st.
(Ch1, sk next st. Sc in next st.) across
Fasten off.

R4: With CD, join with a sc in the first st. Sc in the next ch1 sp.
*Sk next sc.
3dc in next ch1 sp.
Sk next sc.
Sc in next ch1 sp.
Rep from * once more.
Sk next sc.
3dc in next ch1 sp.
Sc in next ch1 sp.
Sc in last sc. (15sts)
Fasten off.

R5: With CA, join with a dc in the first st.
Dc in next st.
* Ch1, sk next st.
Sc in next st. (center dc in 3dc group)
Ch1, sk next st.
Dc in next sc.
Rep from * twice.
Dc in last st.
Fasten off.

R6: With CE, join with a dc in first st.
Dc in next st.
* Sk next ch1 sp and next sc.
Dc in next ch1 sp.
Ch1. Dc in skipped dc.
Dc in next dc.
Rep from * twice.
Dc in last st.
Fasten off.

R7: With CC, join with a sc in the first st.
(Ch1. Sk next st. Sc in next st.) across (8sc & 7ch1 sps)
Fasten off.

R8: With CB, join with a dc in the first st.
Dc in ea sc and ch1 sp. (15dc)

Fasten off.

R9: With CA, join with a dc in the first st.
(Fpdc around next st. Dc in next st.) across.
Fasten off.

BORDER
R1: Join CB with a sc in the first st.
Sc evenly around entire square placing 3sc in ea corner.
Join with a sl st in the first st.
Fasten off.

R2: With CA, join with a sc in the BLO of any st.
Sc in BLO evenly around entire square placing 3sc in ea corner.
Join with a sl st in the first st.

Fasten off.
