BULLION STITCH (No abbreviation)
There are several variations of this stitch, each using a different number of wraps or yarn overs. The Bullion used in the afghan square in this issue is made as follows:
Yarn over 7 times, insert the hook in the indicated stitch,
yarn over and pull up a loop. Yarn over and pull through all loops on the hook.
Ch 1 loosely, pulling the chain up even with the top of the stitch.
TIP: Don't try to pull the yarn through all of the loops at once... work them one at a time if you need to. This is a very tedious stitch :)

Re: Dishcloth
I didn’t find an error, I watched your video and am just unsure which “hole” to go into when I turn to go back on the 3rd row. Do I go into the hole I just made before I got to the end of the 2nd row? Or do I go to the next hole in? I was wishing your video showed which hole at the end of the video.
Sheila Nunweiler

Row 3 is the same as Row 2... each “hole” is the chain 2 space.
Let me explain:
>>>ROWS 2-18: Ch 2, turn. (Dc, ch 2, sc) in next ch 2 sp. (2 dc, ch 2, sc) in each rem ch 2 sp.
Rows 2-18 are identical. You begin with 2 chains, turn the work, then work a double crochet, chain 2, and a single crochet in the next chain 2 space. The chain 2 space is the hole on the working row where you made 2 chains... you work into the hole not into the chain stitches themselves. Now continue across the row working 2 double crochets, 2 chains and a single crochet all in each chain 2 space.

"Laughter is an instant vacation." - Milton Berle
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Humor provides us with a valuable tool for
maintaining an inner strength in the midst
of outer turmoil. - Brian Deery
I was not thrilled with the idea of letting my clueless
13-year- old son baby sit his younger brothers, even
though he begged me to.
"What about a fire?" I asked, referring to my No. 1
concern.
"Mom," he said, rolling his eyes, "I'm a Boy Scout.
I know how to start a fire."
The new librarian decided that instead of checking out
children's books by writing the names of borrowers on
the book cards herself, she would have the youngsters
sign their own names. She would then tell them they
were signing a "contract" for returning the books on
time.
Her first customer was a 2nd grader, who looked surprised
to see a new librarian. He brought four books to the desk
and shoved them across to the librarian, giving her his
name as was the custom.
The new librarian pushed the books back, smiled, and told
him to sign them out. The boy carefully printed his name
on each book card and then handed them to her with a look
of utter disgust.
Before the new librarian could even start her speech he
said scornfully, "At least that other librarian we had
could write."
A student was heading home for the holidays. When she got to
the airline counter, she presented her ticket to New York.
As she gave the agent her luggage, she made the remark, "I'd
like you to send my green suitcase to Hawaii and my red
suitcase to London."
The confused agent said, "I'm sorry, but we can't do that."
"Really? I am so relieved to hear you say that, because
that's exactly what you did to my luggage last year!"
Customer gets a topical cream. Directions: Apply locally two
times a day.
Customer says to the pharmacist: "I can't apply locally; I'm
going overseas."
I have a brother who was on a plane that had taken off
and was approaching cruising altitude, when one of the
flight attendants came on the public-address system.
She announced that she was sorry, but the plane's
restroom was out of order.
The flight attendant went on to apologize to the passengers
for any inconvenience. But then she finished cheerily with:
"So, as compensation, free drinks will be served."
I was recently attending a birthday party for my
mother-in-law, when my three-year-old grandson came to
me with a Strawberry Shortcake toy computer that can
help with spelling and some other things. He wanted me
to turn it on for him. I opened it up, looked around
for an on/off switch, and slid a couple of switches
left and right, but it wouldn't come on. I gave it back
to him saying that I couldn't help him.
He took the computer and gave it to the mother of the
little girl it belonged to. She opened it up and pushed
a button, it came on, and she gave it back to him.
I asked her what she had pushed to get it to come on.
She replied, "On/Off."
When I said I couldn't figure it out and I work on
computers for a living, she replied, "I wouldn't tell
that to anyone."
I packed the car and gathered our daughters for
a visit to my sister's house . On my way out the
door, my husband, Ed, who wasn't going, said: "Be
very careful...my whole world is in that car!"
Later, during lunch, I repeated Ed's words to my
sister, and my oldest daughter cracked, "Yeah,
Dad's golf clubs are in the trunk!"
A soldier was asked to report to headquarters
for assignment. The sergeant said: "We have a
critical shortage of typists. I'll give you a
little test. Type this," he ordered, giving
him a pamphlet to copy and a sheet of paper,
and pointing to a desk across the room that
held a typewriter and an adding machine.
The man, quite reluctant to become a clerk
typist, made a point of typing very slowly,
and saw to it that his work contained as many
errors as possible.
The sergeant gave the typed copy only a brief
glance. "That's fine," he said; "Report for
work at 8 tomorrow."
"But aren't you going to check the test?" the
prospective clerk asked.
The sergeant grinned. "You passed the test," he
replied, "when you sat down at the typewriter
instead of at the adding machine."
Shooting the breeze down at the Veteran's hospital,
a trio of old timers ran out of tales of their own
heroic exploits and started bragging about their
ancestors. "My great grandfather, at age 13," one
declared proudly, "was a drummer boy at Shiloh."
"Mine," boasted another, "went down with Custer at
the Battle of Little Big Horn."
"I'm the only soldier in my family," confessed vet
number three, "but if my great grandfather was
living today he'd be the most famous man in the
world."
"What'd he do?" his friends wanted to know.
"Nothing much. But he would be 165 years old."
Three friends from the local congregation were asked, "When you're in your casket and friends and congregation members are mourning over you, what would you like them to say?"
Artie said, "I would like them to say I was a wonderful husband, a fine spiritual leader, and a great family man."
Gene replied, "I would like them to say I was a wonderful teacher and servant of God who made a huge difference in people's lives."
Don answered, "I'd like them to say, 'Look! He's moving!'"
Betty was soon to be married.
More than anything,
she wanted to wear the wedding dress her mother
was married in.
Betty's mother was beaming with pride as she gave
her consent.
Later in the evening, the family gathered in the
living room to wait while Betty tried on the dress.
When Betty entered the room, there was a chorus
of approval. The dress fit perfectly and looked
wonderful on her.
Tears ran down the face of Betty's mother.
Seeing this, Betty said, "Don't worry Mom, you're
not losing a daughter, your gaining a son."
"Forget about that!" she said with a sob. "I used
to fit into that dress!"
The fist knocking on the door belonged to a cop. Bracing
for the worst, the yard foreman opened the door.
"Is that yours?" asked the officer, pointing to a company
van that was jutting out into the narrow street.
"Uhh, yes it is," said the foreman. "That is, it's our
company's."
"Would you mind moving it?" asked the officer. "We've set
up a speed trap, and the van's causing everyone to slow
down."
