CROCODILE STITCH
I have had many people ask me about this stitch and though I haven't personally used the stitch in a project I thought you might like to check it out.
The following link is for a pattern and on the page there are videos that helps explain the stitch further.

Did you know that yarn labeled as a certain weight (sport weight, worsted weight, etc.) can still vary in thickness from one brand to another?
For example, Red Heart Super Saver and Caron Simply Soft both come in worsted weight but Caron Simply Soft is visibly thinner which could drastically affect your project size.
When you choose the yarn for your project, pay close attention to the yarn size as well as the fiber content. Keeping these two attributes similar will ensure your project is a success.
You may be able to combine two strands of a thinner yarn and use it in the same project as one thicker yarn.
Keeping fiber content similar will ensure your project washes up without distorting it.

I'm pretty much new to this and would love to make Emma's baby booties, but can't for the life of me figure of what bl's are. the following is a copy of what I am talking about. ---
HEEL
R1: With RS facing, working in bl's only. Reattach yarn in the center stitch on RS of sole. (7 sts back from the original fasten off point) Sc around to same point on opposite side. (19sc)
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You D. Svoboda

BL is the abbreviation for Back Loop.
Instead of crocheting in the entire stitch which is both loops on the top of the stitch...
you only catch or go through one of the loops when you do each stitch.
The back loop (bl) is the loop farthest from you.

NOTE:
Also, keep in mind that the heel and toe of this bootie are not joined until the
Finishing section. The ribbon is weaved through the holes on R5 of the Heel
and the ch4 loops on each side of the toe then drawn up and tied in a bow.
This joins them.

I’m looking for a pattern for a preemie baby hat that would be small enough to fit on a good size lemon – this is how big the woman said to size the baby hats. I’m hoping that you can help me.
Thanks for all your help
Sincerely,

Oh my!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How adorable are those?!?
Luciana Young
Hello,
I have finished one and was wondering if it supposed to be open on the sides. I can't tell by looking at the picture, but my little booty is open on both sides. Did I do something wrong or is it suppose to be that way? I would appreciate your comments.
Thank you, and have a great day!!
Annette

This book
is a wonderful addition to any crochet library.
I've had numerous requests over the years of what to crochet for
boys.
Crobots are definitely the answer!
This 96-page book is filled with numerous types of Crobot patterns
as well as well-illustrated instructions for the
crochet stitches, assembly stitches and other embellishments used
in the patterns.
The patterns are well written, some of the book is written in a
small font but the pictures are wonderful. NOTE:
This book comes to you with a safety warning regarding the small
parts used in the patterns.
Therefore, please use your own discretion as to the age of the child
you intend the gift for.
I have to tell you about this new book.
SweaterBabe.com's Fabulous & Flirty Crochet
I'm so happy to have it in my crochet library.Katherine Lee has an eye for style and a definite knack for creating
beautiful crochet patterns.
I was really happy with the large colorful project photos.
There's something for everyone!
The aspect of Fabulous and Flirty Crochet that stood out to me was
the section on the yarns
used in the patterns. One page shows "actual size" photos
of the yarns which makes it super
easy to substitute other yarns if you want to. For those who stay
strictly to the recommended
yarn in a pattern Katherine has included a yarn resource list. The
projects are very fashionable
and perfect for gift giving... though I'm sure you'll have to make
something for yourself :o)
I can't wait to try the Flirty Skirt and the Ruffled Strap Tank.

"Laughter is an instant vacation." - Milton Berle
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
A Sunday School teacher asked her class why Joseph and Mary
took Jesus with them to Jerusalem.
A small child replied, 'They couldn't get a baby-sitter.'
My husband and I both look very young for our ages. In
fact, we've hardly aged a day since we first laid eyes on each
other in college -- at least, that's what we tell each other. But
our children have a way of bringing us crashing back to earth.
Recently, my husband and I were discussing a man who
was running for public office.
"He's a Vietnam vet," commented my husband.
"What's that?" queried our young daughter.
Trying to answer the question in terms a four-year-old
could readily grasp, my husband replied, "Well, honey, that
means that the man fought in a war that happened when
Mommy and Daddy were little."
Our daughter regarded us both thoughtfully for a
moment, then asked, "So, was he a Viking?"
A man is giving a speech at his lodge meeting. He gets a
bit carried away and talks for two hours.
Finally, he realizes what he is doing and says; "I'm sorry I
talked so long. I left my watch at home."
A voice from the back of the room says, "There's a
calendar behind you."
My friend's father is a locksmith in a resort town. Once he
saw a group of beach goers park near his shop and dump
trash from their car on his property.
As soon as they were out of sight, and walking towards
the beach, the locksmith picked the lock on their car door, put
the garbage back inside and relocked the car.
A guy was having some physical problems and his doctor told him to drink warm water with Epsom Salts one hour before breakfast. At the end of a week he returned and the doctor asked if he was feeling better.
The man said that he actually felt worse.
"Did you drink warm salt water an hour before breakfast each day?" the Doc asked.
"No," replied the man somberly, letting out a sigh. "I
could only do about 15 minutes!"
I had given our daughter, who was 14 at the time, a driver's
manual. On the way to town one day, I was coaching her as I
drove. I told her to be studying her book so as to be ready
when it came time to get her drivers permit.
"Oh," she said, "I already know everything in the book."
"You do?" I returned.
"Yep", she said, very smugly.
I thought, "OK, I'll give her a hard one." So I asked her,"How many feet does it take to stop the car if you are
driving 60 miles an hour and have to slam on the brakes
real hard?"
"One," she replied.
"What?" I asked. "One?!"
She repeated her answer and then because of the confused
look on my face, she added, "One, Mom. You already told
me never to use my left foot on the brake, only my right
one."
This guy was watching TV as his wife was out cutting the grass during the hot summer. He finally worked up the energy to go out and ask his wife what was for supper.
Well, his missus was quite irritated about him sitting in the air-conditioned house all day while she did all the work, so she scolded him. "I can't believe you're asking me about supper right now! Imagine I'm out of town. Go inside and figure dinner out yourself."
So he went back into the house and fixed himself a big steak with potatoes, garlic bread, and a tall glass of iced tea.
The wife finally walked in about the time he was finishing up and asked him, "You fixed something to eat? So where's mine?"
He said, "Huh, I thought you were out of town."
A man called 911 and spoke frantically into the phone, "My wife is pregnant and her contractions are only two minutes apart!"
"Is this her first child?" the dispatcher asked.
"No, you idiot!" the man shouted, "This is her husband!"
Little Emily was complaining to her mother that
her stomach hurt.
Her mother replied, “That’s because it's empty.
Maybe you should try putting something in it."
The next day, the pastor was over at Emily's
family's house for lunch. He mentioned having
his head hurt, to which Emily immediately replied,"That's because it's empty. Maybe you should try
putting something in it.
A kindly 90-year-old grandmother found buying presents for family and friends a bit much one Christmas, so she wrote out checks for all of them to put in their Christmas cards.
In each card she wrote, "Buy your own present" and then sent them off.
After the Christmas festivities were over, she found the checks in her desk!
Everyone had gotten a Christmas card from her with "Buy your own present" written inside, but without the checks!
Attending a wedding for the first time, a little girl whispered to her mother, 'Why is the bride dressed in white?'
The mother replied, 'Because white is the color of happiness, and today is the happiest day of her life.'
The child thought about this for a moment then said, 'So why is the groom wearing black?'
A little girl, dressed in her Sunday best, was running as fast as she could, trying not to be late for Bible class. As she ran she prayed, 'Dear Lord, please don't let me be late! Dear Lord, please don't let me be late!'
While she was running and praying, she tripped on a curb and fell, getting her clothes dirty and tearing her dress. She got up, brushed herself off, and started running again! As she ran she once again began to pray, 'Dear Lord, please don't let me be late...But please don't shove me either!'
