"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through Him. He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the judgment, that the light is come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the light; for their deeds were evil. For everyone who does evil hates the light, and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who practices the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be manifested as having been wrought in God."
John 3:16-21
"What man among you, if he has a hundred sheep and has lost one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the open pasture, and go after the one which is lost, until he finds it? And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, "Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!" I tell you that in the same way, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents, than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance. Or what woman, if she has ten silver coins and loses one coin, does not light a lamp and sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it? And when she has found it, she calls together her friends and neighbors, saying, "Rejoice with me, for I have found the coin which I had lost!" In the same way, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents."
Luke 15:4-10
"Enter by the narrow gate; for the gate is wide, and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and many are those who enter by it. For the gate is small, and the way is narrow that leads to life, and few are those who find it."
Matthew 7:13-14
"GOD LOVES HIS CHILDREN
NOT BECAUSE OF WHO THEY ARE
BUT BECAUSE OF WHO HE IS."

CLUSTER STITCH
The following page has illustrations on how to do a cluster stitch:

I think this is the same as decreasing over several stitches myself.
Go figure why they call it a cluster?

RE: thank you note
Just a quick note to thank you so much for the pattern of the scratch mitties!
I've not followed any pattern for years, and sat down today and made a pair for my new grandchidl due in Feb. 2003. I am so proud of my accomplishment, and will definitely be visiting your site often.
Do you have any easy patterns for a jacket and hat set?
Thanks again, and God Bless!

There was a hound dog laying in the yard and an old geezer
in overalls was sitting on the porch.
"Excuse me, sir, but does your dog bite?" the tourist asked.
The old man looked up over his newspaper and replied, "Nope."
As soon as the tourist stepped out of his car, the dog began
snarling and growling, then attacked both his arms and legs.
The tourist yelled, "I thought you said your dog didn't bite!"
The old man muttered, "Ain't my dog."
Two Golfers were approaching the first tee.
The first guy goes into his golf bag to get a ball and says to his friend,
"Hey, why don't you try this ball."
He draws a green golf ball out of his bag. "You can't lose it."
His friend replies, "What do you mean you can't lose it?!!"
The first man replies, "I'm serious, you can't lose it.
If you hit it into the woods, it makes a beeping sound,
if you hit it into the water it produces bubbles,
and if you hit it on the fairway, smoke comes up in order for you to find it."
Obviously, his friend doesn't believe him, but he shows him all the possibilities
until he is convinced. The friend says, "Wow! That's incredible!
Where did you get that ball?"
The man replies, "I found it."
Little Johnny sat playing in the garden.
When his mother came out to collect him, she saw that he was slowly eating a worm.
She turned pale. "No, Johnny! Stop! That's horrible! You can't eat worms!"
Trying to convince him further, "Now the mother worm is looking all over for her nice baby-worm."
"No, she isn't," said Johnny.
"Why not?" said the mother.
"Because I ate her first!"
Little Tony was so happy to see his grandmother that he ran up and gave her
a big hug.
"I'm so happy to see you, grandma. Now daddy will have to do that trick
he's been promising to do!"
His grandmother was curious. "What trick is that, sweetie?"
The little guy smiled at her,
"I heard daddy tell mommy that he would climb the walls if you came to visit
us again!"
Once there was a little boy who lived in the country.
For facilities, they had to use an outhouse, and the little boy hated it
because it was hot in the summer, cold in the winter and stank all the time.
The outhouse was sitting on the bank of a creek and the boy determined that
one day he would push that outhouse into the water.
One day after a spring rain, the creek was swollen so the little boy decided
today was the day to push the outhouse into the creek. So he got a large
stick and pushed. Finally, the outhouse toppled into the creek and floated
away.
That night his dad told him they were going to the woodshed after supper.
Knowing that meant a spanking, the little boy asked why...
The dad replied, "Someone pushed the outhouse into the creek today. It was
you, wasn't it, son?"
The boy answered yes.
Then he thought a moment and said, "Dad, I read in school today that George
Washington chopped down a cherry tree and didn't get into trouble because he
told the truth..."
The dad replied, "Well, son, George Washington's father wasn't in that
cherry tree!!"
A woman stood inside the front door, her arms full of coats. Four small
children scurried around her.
Her husband, coming down the stairs, asked why she was standing there.
"Here," she said, handing him the coats,
"This time you put the children into their coats, and I'll go honk the
horn."
Little Tommy was doing very badly in math.
His parents had tried everything: tutors, flash cards, special learning centers.
In a last-ditch effort, they took Tommy and enrolled him in the local Catholic school.
After the first day, Little Tommy came home with a very serious look on his face.
He didn't kiss his mother hello. Instead, he went straight to his room and started studying.
His mother was amazed. She called him to dinner. To her shock, the minute he was done
he marched back to his room without a word and in no time he was back hitting the books
as hard as before. This went on for some time, day after day while his mother tried to
understand what made all the difference.
Finally, Little Tommy brought home his report card. He quietly laid it on the table and went
up to his room and hit the books. With great trepidation, his mom looked at it. To her surprise,
little Tommy got an A in math. She could no longer hold her curiousity. She went to his room
and said, "Son, what was it? Was it the nuns?"
Little Tommy looked at her and shook his head, "No!"
"Well, then," she asked, "was it the books, the discipline, the structure, the uniforms?
WHAT was it?"
Little Tommy looked at her and said, "Well, on the first day of school,
when I saw that guy nailed to the plus sign, I knew they weren't fooling around!"
My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what I
start. So far today, I have finished 2 bags of chips and a chocolate cake.
I feel better already.
