Scenario:
You only have one crochet hook of a particular size (i.e. Hook Size G) .
You want to work on multiple projects simultaneously that require the same size crochet hook.
You tend forget which hook size you used for a project.
Tips to help you keep track:
1. Make a note of the hook size on each pattern you are making; and/or
2. Attach a note to each project that contains the hook size used.

RE: Dog Bandana
So how does this bandana attach to stay closed? Is it buttoned or snapped on?

The Dog Bandana is buttoned.
RE: I love your site...
I love your site. I just saw something on it that I found so useful. I saw where you told how to enlarge the font of a page. I too am getting on in age and this will help me to see pages better. Your site is wonderful. Thanks for all your hard work...Pam
I have a question: Do you know the math for crocheting an oval rug? If I
wanted a rug a certain finished length, how long of a beginning chain do I
need? I hope this makes sense. If you don't know, do you know of a website
with this information? Thank you Lisa! God bless! Emmy

Help - I am trying to make a pattern that has a star in the center of a block. This is the pattern calls for 2 colors and is in all sc. I have figured out how to do the first line of two colors - intrasia - but I can't figure out the second line. It seems that the yarn is on the wrong side. Is there a link, YouTube or place to show this.

Re: Help
Can you please explain these directions?
[1 dc. (Ch 1. 1 dc) 4 times] all in next ch-3 sp - Shell made.

[1 dc. (Ch 1. 1 dc) 4 times] all in next ch-3 sp - Shell made.
This means you :
Work the following stitches all in the next chain 3 space
(into the hole beneath those 3 chains... not into any of the actual chains):
double crochet
chain 1, double crochet
chain 1, double crochet
chain 1, double crochet
chain 1, double crochet
This forms a shell.

This book
is a wonderful addition to any crochet library.
I've had numerous requests over the years of what to crochet for
boys.
Crobots are definitely the answer!
This 96-page book is filled with numerous types of Crobot patterns
as well as well-illustrated instructions for the
crochet stitches, assembly stitches and other embellishments used
in the patterns.
The patterns are well written, some of the book is written in a
small font but the pictures are wonderful. NOTE:
This book comes to you with a safety warning regarding the small
parts used in the patterns.
Therefore, please use your own discretion as to the age of the child
you intend the gift for.

"Laughter is an instant vacation." - Milton Berle
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
A little boy sent a "get well quick" card to his grandfather
in the hospital. Inside the card he wrote:
Dear Grandpa,
Mama tells me that you went to the hospital for some tests.
I hope you get an "A"!
Love, Billy
I was the teacher for a toddler-aged Sunday School class,
which included my 14-month old daughter. During our lesson
on creation, I'd ask questions like, "Who made the trees?"
or "Who made the sun?" and the children would respond,
"God did!"
I was pleased that the children seemed to quickly learn
that God made everything.
The lessons at home weren't going so well. I had tried
repeatedly to get my daughter to pick up her toys when
she was done with them, and she just wasn't learning this
very quickly at all.
One day I walked into the living room to find toys scattered
simply everywhere. In exasperation I asked, "Who made this
mess?!"
My daughter looked at me, beamed a proud smile, and
exclaimed, "God did!"
All the grandkids were visiting for Thanksgiving. Before
dinner, Grandma made a lengthy speech about being thankful
for her extra-special blessings, her four grandchildren.
Two seconds after she stopped speaking, all hell broke
loose and the kids were yelling and grabbing for the
home-made rolls.Grandma sat there, eyes closed with a
tight squint on her face.
When asked what was the matter, she replied, "I'm just
praying for a little patience to handle all these blessings."
Little Johnny and his family lived in the country, and
as a result, they seldom had guests. Johnny was eager
to help his mother after his father appeared with two
dinner gu ests from the office.
When the dinner was nearly over, Little Johnny went to
the kitchen and proudly carried in the first piece of
apple pie, giving it to his father, who passed it to
a guest. Little Johnny came in with a second piece of
pie and gave it to his father, who again gave it to a
guest.
This was too much for Little Johnny, who said, "It's
no use, Dad. The pieces are all the same size."
The professor of a graduate-school class included
a huge amount of material on the midterm exam. As
tension in the room built, people were sighing and
gasping aloud.
The following week the professor tossed the graded
papers on her desk and announced, "Class, after I
left here last week, the Lord spoke to me. He said,
'Thanks, professor. I haven't heard from some of
those people in years!'"
Barb's granddaughter was in kindergarten. There
was a boy in her class that wasn't listening to
the teacher.
The teacher said to him, "Since you don't want to
listen, you sit at that table by yourself."
After a few minutes, Barb's granddaughter raised
her hand and said, "I don't want to listen either.
Can I sit with him?"
It was late afternoon at the crowded Shopping Mall
when the distraught woman dashed to a phone and
called a cab.
She stood there outside until the taxi drove up.
"Where to M'am?" the driver asked.
"Just keep driving around the parking lot," she
said, "I'm afraid I've lost my car again!"
A small town Doctor was famous in the area for always catching the largest fish.
One day while he was on one of his frequent fishing trips he got a call that a woman at a neighboring farm was giving birth. He rushed to her aid and delivered a healthy baby boy.
The farmer had nothing to weigh the baby with so the Doctor used his fishing scales.
The baby weighed 22 lbs 10 oz.
An exasperated mother, whose son was always getting
into mischief, finally asked him, "How do you expect to get into Heaven?"
The boy thought it over and said,
"Well, I'll just run in and out and in and out and
keep slamming the door until St. Peter says,
'For Heaven's sake, Jimmy, come in or stay out!'"
My class was touring the ASPCA, oohing and aahing over the
lost- and-waiting-to-be-adopted animals. One of my third grade
boys was gazing intently at an elaborate aquarium full of
different species of fish.
"They're beautiful, aren't they," I commented.
He looked at me thoughtfully, then replied, "Yes, but I don't
understand...how can anyone lose a fish?"
A man walked up to a vending machine, put in a coin,
and pressed the button labeled, "Coffee, double cream,
sugar." No cup appeared. Then two nozzles went into
action, one sending forth coffee, the other, cream.
After the proper amounts had gone down the drain where
the cup should have been, the machine turned off.
"Now that's real automation," the man exclaimed. "This
thing even drinks it for you."
A little boy came home from kindergarten with a blue
ribbon.
When his mommy asked him "What is the blue ribbon for?"
he proudly announced, "I won!"
When pressed for details he simply said, "The teacher asked
all of us to guess how many legs an insect has. When my turn
came, I guessed FIVE."
"Five???" his mother replied, "but an insect has SIX
legs."
"I won because my guess was the closest."
