MATERIALS:

Hook: Size I

Yarn: 4 ply worsted weight yarn. (I used Red Heart for the one in the photo) I also made one with Simply Soft yarn and it worked up nice too.

Stitches used: ch, sl st, dc, Open Shell = (dc, ch 1) - 4 times, dc.
In other words: work the following stitches to make the Open Shell:
( dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc) in the same sp.

Difficulty: Medium

ROW 1: Ch 17, dc in 4th ch from hk and each ch across. Ch 3, turn. (15 dc) [right side]

ROW 2: Dc in next 3 dcs, skip next 3 dcs, work open shell in next dc, sk next 3 dc, dc in next 4 dc. Ch 3, turn.

ROW 3: Dc in next 3 dc, ch 3, sc in the center dc of the open shell, ch 3, dc in last 4 dc. Ch 3, turn.

ROW 4: Dc in next 3 dcs, sk next 3 chs, work Open Shell in the sc, sk next 3 chs, dc in next 4 dc. Ch 3, turn.

ROW 5: Repeat Row 3.

ROWS 6-29: Repeat rows 4 & 5 12 times. Ch 3, turn.

ROW 30: Dc in next 3 dc, 3 dc in ch 3 sp, dc in sc, 3 dc in ch 3 sp, dc in last 4 dc. Ch 1.

ROW 31: Placing wrong sides of top and bottom together. Sc to join each corresponding dc. Ch 2, turn.

ROW 32: * Sk next sc, hdc in next sc. Repeat from * across. (8 hdc). Ch 2, turn.

ROW 33: Hdc in each st. Ch 2, turn (8 hdc).

ROW 34: Repeat Row 33. Ch 2, turn.

Row 35: Repeat Row 32 except ch 3 instead of 2. Sl st in hdc on other end to form a hanging loop. Ch 1, turn. 6 sc in loop, sl st in loop.

FASTEN OFF.

RUFFLE:

With hanging loop on top, attach yarn around the post of the top dc on the front beginning down the left side. Ch 4, dc, ch 1, dc in same sp. (dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc) around the post of each dc around the side. Join with sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch 4.

FASTEN OFF.

Turn project over and repeat Ruffle instructions around that side also.

WEAVE IN ALL YARN ENDS.

INSERT A ROLL OF TISSUE AND HANG IT ON THE WALL WITH A NAIL OR PUSH PIN.

NOTE: Entire pattern can be worked in one color or you can work the first part in one color and the ruffle on each side in another color.
