Sachet - Gift Bag

The following pattern is my original design.
Please only copy or print this pattern for personal use.

MATERIALS:

2 ply Cotton
Steel Hook Size 5
Gold Cording or Ribbon
Yarn Needle
Stitches Used: ch, sl st, dc, v-st.

Difficulty: MEDIUM


R1: Ch31, dc in 4th ch from hook and in each rem ch.

R2: Sl st around post of the last dc. Ch3. (dc, ch2, 3dc, ch2, 2dc) around same post. Dc between posts of all stitches down the side. (2dc, ch2, 3dc, ch2, 2dc) around post of last stitch on R1. Dc between posts of all stitches down the side. Join with sl st.

R3: Ch3, dc in next dc. * V-st in next ch2 sp. Dc in next dc. 3dc in next dc. Dc in next dc. V-st in next ch2 sp. * Dc in each st across to next ch2 sp. Rep from * to * once. Dc in each rem st. Join with sl st in top of beg ch3.

R4: Ch3, dc in next 2 dc. * (2dc, ch2, 2dc) in next ch2 sp. Dc in next 3 dc. 3dc in next dc. Dc in next 3 dc. (2dc, ch2, 2dc) in next ch2 sp. * Dc in each dc across to next ch2 sp. Rep from * to * once. Join with sl st in top of beg ch3.

R5: Ch3. Dc in next 4dc. * (2dc, ch2, 2dc) in next ch2 sp. (Dc in next st, 2dc in next st) 3 times. V-st in next dc {this is the center dc of the 3dc set on prev rnd}. (2dc in next st, dc in next st) 3 times. (2dc, ch2, 2dc) in next ch2 sp. * Dc in each st across to next ch2 sp. Rep from * to * once. Dc in each rem st. Join with sl st in top of beg ch3.

R6: Ch3. Dc across to ch2 sp. * (2dc, ch2, 2dc) in ch2 sp. Dc in next 6 sts. Ch2. Dc in next 6 sts. (2dc, ch2, 2dc) in ch2 sp. Dc in next 6 sts. Ch2. Dc in next 6 sts. (2dc, ch2, 2dc) in ch2 sp. * Dc in each st across to next ch2 sp. Rep from * to * once. Dc in each rem st. Join with sl st in top of beg ch3.

R7: Ch3. Dc in each st across to ch2 sp. [* (2dc, ch2, 2dc) in ch2 sp. Dc across to next ch2 sp. V-st in ch2 sp. Dc across to next ch2 sp. Rep from * once. (2dc, ch2, 2dc) in ch2 sp.] Dc across to next ch2 sp. Rep from [ to ] once. Dc in ea rem st. Join with a sl st in top of beg ch3.

R8: Ch 3. Dc in each dc and ch sp around. Join with sl st in top of beg ch3.

Finishing: Fold short ends tog. Using a yarn needle and same thread, stitch up sides beginning at the corresponding ch2 sps that form the v-shape design. Once sides are stitched, weave gold cording or a ribbon through the v-shape design, fill with a bit of potpourri or a small gift, draw it closed and tie a bow.

Fasten Off.
