Ribbon and Mesh Bookmark Crochet Pattern

 


The following pattern is my original design.
Please only copy or print this pattern for personal use.
Please contact me if you find any errors.

MATERIALS:

Bedspread Weight Cotton Thread (small amount of white [MC] and light green [CC] )
Steel Hook - Size 1
3-18" pieces of 3/16" purple ribbon with a picot edge

Stitches: ch, dc, sc, sl st.

Difficulty:  MEDIUM


R1: W/MC, Ch14. Dc in 6th ch from hook.
(Ch1, sk 1 ch, dc in next ch) across. [right side]

Rs2-16: Ch4, turn. Sk next ch-sp, dc in next dc.
(Ch1, sk next ch-sp, dc in next dc) across to turning ch.
Ch1, Dc in the 2nd ch of the turning ch.

EDGE
With Right Side facing, join CC with a sc in the 2nd dc on the last row.
(Sc in next ch-sp. Sc in next dc.) 3 times.
(Sc, ch2, 2sc) in next corner sp.
2sc around the post of ea dc along the side to the next corner sp.
(2sc, ch2, sc) in the corner sp.
Sc in next dc.
(Sc in next ch-sp. Sc in next dc.) 3 times.
(Sc, ch2, 2sc) in next corner sp.
2sc around the post of ea dc along the side to the next corner sp.
(2sc, ch2, sc) in the corner sp.
Join with sl st in the first sc.

Fasten off.

FINISHING
Weave the pieces of ribbon through the stitches vertically in every other column of stitches.

Ribbon and Mesh Bookmark Crochet Pattern

The picot edging will help keep the ribbon stay in place. You can add a drop of glue to secure each ribbon on the back side of the bookmark if you worry it will slide out.
