THIS PREEMIE HAT IS FOR A HEAD CIRCUMFERENCE OF 9-1/4" - 10-1/4".
THIS PATTERN CAN ALSO BE USED FOR DOLLS.

MATERIALS:

Hook: Size G

Yarn: Bernat Baby Fingering Weight

Stitches used: ch, sl st, sc.

Difficulty: EASY

NOTE: Size is easily adjusted by increasing the number of chains in the foundation chain.

RND 1: Ch 18, sc in 2nd ch from hk and in each ch across. 3 sc in last ch. Working in unworked lps of foundation chain, sc in each across to end. 2 additional sc in last ch. Join with sl st. Ch 1, Do not turn. (This will be an oval shape)

RNDS 2-28: Sc in each st around, placing a marker after each round. After the last row, sl st in the next sc and fasten off.

POM POM: Wrap yarn around 3 fingers 50 times. Tie in the middle and cut all the loops. Then shake it and trim any long strands so the pom pom looks even.

FINISHING: Using the tie strings from the pom pom, pull both ends of the foundation chain together and tie the pom pom on the hat. Cuff up the brim and you're finished.
