Pink Wedges Doily

Measures
12" Diameter


The following pattern is my original design.
Please only copy or print this pattern for personal use.
Please contact me if you find any errors.

MATERIALS:

Red Heart Super Saver (pink) - less than 1-1/2 oz (CA)
Red Heart (light green) - less than 1-1/2 oz) (CB)
G Hook

Stitches: ch, dc, sc, sc2tog, sl st.

Difficulty:  MEDIUM


WEDGES (MAKE 5)

R1: W/CA, Ch4, 3dc in the 4th ch from the hook.
Ch2, (4dc in same st, ch2) 2 times.
Join with a sl st in the top of the beg ch4.

R2: Ch3, turn.
(Dc, ch2, 2dc) in corner ch-sp.
[Ch1, sk next dc, dc in next 2dc, ch1, sk next dc.]
*(2dc, ch1, 2dc) in corner ch-sp.
[Ch1, sk next dc, dc in next 2dc, ch1, sk next dc.]
Rep from * once more.
Join with sl st in top of beg ch3.

R3: Ch3, turn.
Dc in ea dc and ch-sp across to corner.
*(2dc, ch2, 2dc) in corner sp.
Dc in ea dc and ch-sp across.
Rep from * once.
(2dc, ch2, 2dc) in corner sp.
Dc in last dc.
Join with sl st in top of beg ch3.

JOINING

With two motifs beside each other and working back and forth from one to the other,
join CB with a sc in a corner sp on Wedge 1.
[ Ch1, sc in corner ch-sp on Wedge 2.
(ch1, sc in next dc on Wedge 1. Ch1, sc in next dc on Wedge 2) across to corners.
Ch1, sc in corner ch-sp on Wedge 1.
Ch1, sc in corner ch-sp on Wedge 2.
Place Wedge 3 beside Wedge 2 and continue joining it the same way,
working back toward the outer edge.
(this has 3 Wedges joined tog)
Fasten off.]

Place Wedge 4 beside Wedge 3. Join CB with a sc in the outer corner ch-sp on Wedge 3.
[ Ch1, sc in corner ch-sp on Wedge 4.
(ch1, sc in next dc on Wedge 3. Ch1, sc in next dc on Wedge 4) across to corners.
Ch1, sc in corner ch-sp on Wedge 3.
Ch1, sc in corner ch-sp on Wedge 4.
Place Wedge 5 beside Wedge 4 and continue joining it the same way,
working back toward the outer edge.
(this has 5 Wedges joined tog, except for the very last seam bet Wedges 1 and 5)

LAST SEAM
Join CB with a sc in the outer corner ch-sp on Wedge 5.
[ Ch1, sc in corner ch-sp on Wedge 1.
(ch1, sc in next dc on Wedge 5. Ch1, sc in next dc on Wedge 1) across to corners.
Ch1, sc in corner ch-sp on Wedge 5.
Ch1, sc in corner ch-sp on Wedge 1.

TO CLOSE THE CENTER
Sc around the center, placing one sc around ea ch st at the end of each side of each wedge. (10sc)
Do not join.
(Sc2tog) 5 times.
Fasten off leaving a 4" yarn tail. Weave the yarn tail in and out of the remaining stitches and draw center closed.

EDGING
R1: Join CB with a dc in any dc along the outer edge.
Working in ea dc and ea ch on the joining lines, ch1, dc in next dc or ch-sp around.
Join with a sl st in the first dc.

R2: Do not turn.
Sc in bet the next 2sts.
(Ch3, sc bet next 2sts) around, ending with
Ch3, sl st in the first sc to join.

R3: Do not turn. Sc in the next ch-3 sp.
(Ch3, sc in next ch-3 sp) around, ending with
Ch3, sl st in the first sc to join.

Fasten off.
