The following pattern is my original design.

MATERIALS:
#10 Bedspread Cotton
Steel Hook Size 1
Stitches: ch, sl st, sc, rev sc.
Difficulty: MEDIUM
R1: Ch9, sc in 2nd ch from hook. Sc in next 6 chs. 3sc in last ch. Sc in unworked loops of next 7 chs. 2sc in same ch as 1st sc. Join with sl st in first sc. Ch1, do not turn.
R2: Sc in ea sc around R1, placing 3sc in the center sc on ea end. Join with sl st in first sc. Ch1, do not turn.
R3: Rep R2.
R4: Sc in bl only of ea st. Join with sl st. Ch1. Do not turn.
Rs5-9: Sc in ea sc. Join with sl st. Ch1. Do not turn.
R10: Rev Sc around. Join with sl st.
Fasten Off.
Reattach thread in any unworked loop on Round 4. Sc in unworked loop of ea st. Join with sl st.
Fasten Off.
HANDLE: (Ch3, sc in 3rd ch form hook) [picot made], 11 times. Working along opposite side (the straight side of the row), (Ch 1, sc in same sp as sc in next picot, across.
Fasten Off.
Attach handle in center of ea end of basket as shown in photo.
