Open Shell Hanging Dish Towel
I designed this pattern to hang on cabinets that have knobs instead of handles.

This dish towel matches the
Open Shell Dishcloth


The following pattern is my original design.

MATERIALS:

G Hook (4.25mm) (#6)
4 ply cotton yarn
1 - 2" Cabone Ring

Stitches Used: ch, sl st, sc, dc.

Difficulty: MEDIUM/DIFFICULT

Rnd 1: Work 32 single crochet stitches inside the Cabone Ring. Join with sl st to 1st sc made. Sl st in next st. Ch 3, Do Not Turn.

Rnd 2: (dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in same st. * Sk next st, sc in next st, sk next st. (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in next st. Rep from * 6 times more. Sk next st, sc in next st, sk next st. Join with sl st in top of beg ch 3. Do Not Turn. (8 ch-2 sps)

- Towel Body -

Row 3: Sl st in next dc, sl st in next ch-2 sp. Ch 3, 4 dc in same ch-2 sp. * dc in next 2 dc, dc in next sc, dc in next 2 dc, 5 dc in next ch-2 sp. Rep from * once. Ch 3, turn. (25dcs)

Row 4: Dc in same st as beg ch-3. Dc in next st, 2 dc in next st, dc in next st, 2 dc in next st. * Ch 1, sk next 2 sts, 2 dc in next st. Ch 1, sk next 2 sts, 2 dc in next st, dc in next st, 2 dc in next st, dc in next st, 2 dc in next st. Rep from * once. Ch 3, turn.

Row 5: Dc in next 2 sts. Ch 1, sk next 2 sts, dc in next 3 sts. [ Ch 1, dc bet next 2dcs, ch 1,
dc in next 3 sts, ch 1, sk next 2 sts, dc in next 3 sts.] Rep from [ to ] once. Ch 3, turn.

Row 6: Dc in each dc and ch-1 sp. Ch 3, turn.

Row 7: Dc in next st. [ * Ch 3, sk next st, sc in next st. Rep from * once. Ch 3, sk next st, * dc in next 4 sts .] Rep from [ to ] once. Rep from * to * once. Dc in ea of last 2 sts. Ch 3, turn.

Row 8: Dc in next st. [ * Sk next ch-3 sp, (dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc) in next ch-3 sp. Sk next ch-3 sp.] Dc in next 4 sts. Rep from * once. Rep from [ to ] once. Dc in last 2 sts. Ch 3, turn.

Row 9: Dc in next st. [ Sk next dc, * sc in next ch-1 sp, ch 3, sk next dc. Rep from * twice. Sc in next ch-1 sp. Sk next dc. * Dc in next 4 dc. ] Rep from [ to ] once. Rep from * to * once. Dc in each of last 2 dc. Ch-3 turn.

Row 10: Rep Row 8.

Row 11: Dc in next dc, sk next dc. [ Sc in next ch-1 sp, * ch 3, sk next dc, sc in next ch-1 sp. Rep from * twice. * Sk next 3 dc. (dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc) in sp between 2 dc in center of 4 dc group. Sk next 3 dc.] Rep from [ to ] once. Sc in next ch-1 sp. Rep from * to * once. Sk next dc, dc in last 2 dc. Ch 3, turn.

Rows 14-23: Alternate Rows 12 and 13 ending with Row 13.
