MATERIALS:

Red Heart Super Saver-4ply worsted weight (Bonbon Print & Pretty in Pink)
     Bonbon Print - 2-10 ounce skeins
     Pretty in Pink - 1-14 ounce skein

Hook Size H

GAUGE: 4" x 4" = 12sc & 16 rows

Stitches: ch, sl st, hdc, dc, sc.

Difficulty: DIFFICULT

BODY

R1: With Bonbon Print, Ch100.
Sc in the hump of the 2nd ch from the hook.
Sc in the hump of ea rem ch. (99sc)

Rs2-100: Ch1, turn. Sc in ea st. (99sts)

R101: Ch1, turn. (Sc2tog. Sc in next st) across. (66sts)

R102: Ch1, turn. Sc in ea st. (66sts)

R103: Ch1, turn. (Sc2tog. Sc in next 4sts) across. (55sts)

Rs104-123: Rep R102.

EDGE

Ch1, do not turn.
Sc in ea row end and st around entire piece, placing 3sc in ea corner.
Join with a sl st in the first sc.

DO NOT FASTEN OFF

SEAM

Sl st inner lps of cor sts tog to join sides, leaving the last 10-12" unworked.

FIN FOUNDATION

With Pretty in Pink, add a sc row around the opening on the narrow end. I evenly spaced 58sc on this row.

Fasten off.

R1: With Pretty in Pink, Ch30. Sc in the hump of the 2nd ch from the hook.
Sc in the hump of ea rem ch. (29sc)

GATHERING (This is done on one Fin Panel at a time.)
Using a yarn needle and same yarn, weave a double strand of yarn through the centermost post stitches from the bottom edge to near the center (about 12 rows up). Pull to gather and secure ends. (Click here to see photo)

JOIN FIN PANELS

With wrong sides facing using same color (Pretty in Pink)
Join cor sts around all sides EXCEPT the foundation row edge (narrow edge).

Fasten off.

JOIN BODY TO FIN

1. Turn Body inside out.

2. Fold Body so seam and top opening are centered.

3. Hold Fin to Body and align center seam on Body to center column of post sts on Fin.

4: Use stitch markers to hold the 2 pieces tog.

5. Insert Fin inside Body and align center on the remaining side and pin. (Click here to see photo)

6. Align each side of Fin to sides of Body and pin.

7. Using Pretty in Pink, sc all cor sts tog.
Join with a sl st. Fasten off.

8. Turn Tail right side out.

Fasten off.
