MATERIALS:

Hook: Steel Size 7

#10 Bedspread Wt. Cotton

Small scrap of plastic canvas cut into cross shape with center removed.
(14 blocks high x 8 blocks wide)

Stitches used: ch, sl st, sc.

Difficulty: EASY/MEDIUM

Join thread around cross. Ch 1, sc around cross until entire form is filled in. Join with a sl st. Fasten off.

Add Fringe

Fringe (leave hanging out of the book): Cut several pieces of yarn approximately 10-12 inches long. Insert hook in sp at the point of the top of the bookmark. Fold all 3 strands of yarn in half. With right side facing, and using the hook, draw the folded ends of the yarn up through the ch 3 sp and pull the loose ends through the folded end. This completes the fringe and all you need to do is tighten up the knot by pulling on the six strands of yarn.
