MATERIALS:

Hook: Size H
Bernat Softee Baby

Stitches used: ch, sl st, sc, dc, v-st.
V-St = (dc, ch1, dc) in same stitch.

NOTE: When instructed to work stitch(es) in a v-stitch you work them into the ch-1 space.

Difficulty: MEDIUM

R1: Ch 4, 9dc in 4th ch from hook. Join with sl st in top of beg ch-4.

R2: Sl st between next 2 dc. Ch4, dc in same sp (this forms the first v-st) (V-st between next 2 sts) around. Join with sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch-4. (10 v-sts).

R3: Sl st in ch-1 sp. Ch 3. Dc in same sp. Dc between next 2 v-sts. (2dc in next v-st; dc between next 2 sts) around. Join with sl st in top of beg ch-3. (10 v-sts & 10 dc)

R4: Sl st between next 2 sts. Ch4. (dc between next 2 sts, ch1) around. Join with sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch-4.

R5: Sl st in next ch-1 sp. Ch 4. Dc in same sp. V-st in ea ch-1 sp around. Join with sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch-4.

R6: Rep R5.

R7: Rep R3.

NOTE: When I refer to a regular double crochet this means the double crochet stitches that aren't included in a v-stitch.

R8: Sl st between next 2 sts. Ch-4. Dc in same sp. (Dc in ea regular dc, v-st in each v-st) around ending with a dc in the last regular dc. Join with sl st in 3rd ch of beg Ch-4.

R9: Sl st in next v-st. Ch 4. Dc in same sp. Dc in next regular dc. (V-st in next v-st. Dc in next regular dc) around. Join with sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch-4.

R10: Sl st in V-st. Ch-4. Dc in same st. V-st in next regular dc. (V-st in v-st. V st in next regular dc) around. Join with sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch-4.

R11: Sl st in V-st. Ch 4. V-st in each v-st. Join with sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch-4.

R12: Sl st in v-st. Ch3. (dc, ch2, sc) in same sp. (2dc, ch2, sc) in ea v-st around. Join with sl st in top of beg ch3.
