Double Towel Topper Crochet Pattern

The following pattern is my original design.
Please only copy or print this pattern for personal use.
Please contact me if you find any errors.

 

MATERIALS:

Red Heart Super Saver (4 ply WW Yarn)
Hook Size: G
1" button
Coordinating Thread and Sewing Needle
Dish Towel (entire towel is used)

Stitches: ch, sl st, sc, hdc, dc, tr.

Difficulty: MEDIUM


NOTE: Topper is made by working the lower portion, attaching it to the towel and then
crocheting the main top part.

R1: Ch30, dc in 4th ch from hook. Dc in ea rem ch. (28dc)

R2: Ch3, turn. Dc in ea dc.

R3: Ch3, turn. Dc in BL Only of ea dc. (the unworked loops will be used later)

EDGING: (Ch3, turn. Sc bet next 2sts) across to the end of row. Sc in top of last dc. 2sc around the post of ea dc on row ends. Sc in unworked lp of first st on foundation row. (Ch3, turn. Sc bet next 2 sts) to end of row. Dc in top of last dc. 2sc around post of ea dc in row ends. -this is right side-

Fasten Off.

FINISHING:
Fold long edges of the towel inward so the towel is the width of the topper then fold
ends together. Fold the topper over the towel with the right side facing out.
Use the sewing needle and coordinating thread to sew the topper to the towel. I sewed
along the center placing a stitch over each crochet stitch.

R1: Reattach yarn to first unworked lp along top edge. Sc in ea unworked lp. (28sc)

R2: Ch3, turn. (dc2tog, dc in next st) across.

R3: Ch3, turn. Dc in ea st. (19dc)

R4-5: Rep R2.

R6-20: Ch3, turn. Dc in ea st.

R21: Ch3, turn. Dc in next 3dc. Ch1, sk next dc. Dc in ea of last 4dc.

R22: Ch1, turn. Sc in same st. Hdc in next st. Dc in next 2 dc. 5tr in ch1 sp. Dc in next 2dc. Hdc in next st. Sc in last st.

FINISHING:

Fold handle down with Right Side of R22 showing, sew button on center stitch on R5. The button hole is the chain 1 space on Row 21.
