MATERIALS:

Red Heart 4 ply, worsted weight acrylic yarn (black) - Main Color (MC)
Red Heart Sport Weight Yarn (small amount of black with shiny filament) - Contrasting Color (CC)
Hook Size J
Tapestry Needle

Stitches: ch, hdc, hdc2tog, sl st.

Difficulty:  MEDIUM

R1: Working with two strands of MC at once, ch3, work 9hdc in 3rd ch from hook. (10hdc)
Join with sl st in top of beg ch3.

R2: Ch2, do not turn. 2hdc in ea st. (20hdc)
Join with sl st in top of beg ch2.

R3: Rep R2 (40hdc)

R4: Ch2, do not turn. Hdc in next st. Hdc2tog.
(Hdc in next 2 sts. Hdc2tog) around.

Rs5-6: Ch2, do not turn. Hdc in ea st. Join with sl st in top of beg ch2.

R7: Ch2, do not turn. 2hdc in ea st. Join with sl st in top of beg ch2.

Fasten Off.

FINISHING

Using a yarn needle, weave two strands of CC yarn through base of R6 and tie a bow.
You can turn the hat so the bow is on the side, back or in the front - your choice.
