This can be used to hold just about anything... candy, hair brush & comb, toothpaste and toothbrush, etc. The uses are only limited to your imagination :o)

 

The following pattern is my original design.
Please only copy or print this pattern for personal use.

MATERIALS:

Hook: Size G

Yarn: Simply Soft

12 ounce Peanut Can (washed and dried)

Stitches used: ch, sl st, dc, beg cross stitch, cross stitch.
DNT = Do Not Turn

Beg. Cross Stitch: Ch 3, dc to right of beg ch 3.
Cross Stitch: Sk next dc, dc in next dc, dc in dc just skipped.

Difficulty: MEDIUM

NOTE: Color(s) may be changed to match any decor.


RND 1: Ch 4, 11 dc in 4th ch from hk. Join with sl st, ch 3, turn.

RND 2: 2 dc in each dc. Join with sl st in top of beg ch 3. Ch 3, turn.

RND 3: Dc in same dc as beg ch 3. * Dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc. Rep from * around. Dc in last dc, join with sl st in top of beg ch 3. Ch 3, turn.

RND 4:Dc in same dc as beg ch 3 and in next dc. * 2dc in next dc, dc in next 2 dc. Rep from * around. 2 dc in last dc. Join with sl st in topof beg ch 3. Ch 1, DNT.

RND 5:(in this round the piece begins to turn up) Sc in bl only of each dc. Join with sl st in 1st sc made. Ch 3, DNT.

RND 6: Dc in next st to right of beg ch 3. Sk next unworked st to left of beg ch 3, dc in next st, dc in st just skipped. * Sk next unworked st to left, dc in next st, dc in st just skipped. Rep from * around. Join with sl st in top of beg ch 3. Ch 1, DNT.

RND 7: Sc in same st as beg ch 1 and in each st around. Join with sl st in 1st sc made, sl st in next 2 sts, ch 3, DNT.

RND 8: Rep Rnd 6.

RND 9: Rep Rnd 7.

RND 10: Rep Rnd 6.

RND 11: Rep Rnd 7.

RND 12: Rep Rnd 6.

RND 13: Rep Rnd 7. After joining with sl st, ch 3 and turn.

RND 14: Working in FL's only, 3 dc in each st. Join with sl st.

FASTEN OFF.

WEAVE IN ENDS.

FINISHING: With contrasting color, make a chain of 100. Weave chain in and out of the stitches between rows 13 and 14... tie bow.

TIP: You can glue colored or white paper around the can to coordinate to your home decor.
