Coin Bank Free Crochet Pattern

Measures
3-1/4" diameter
7-1/2" tall



The following pattern is my original design.
Please only copy or print this pattern for personal use.
Please contact me if you find any errors.

MATERIALS:

Red Heart Super Saver 4ply WW
     (Less than 2 ounces - color of your choice)
Hook Size H/8 - 5.00MM
Plastic Container from Great Value Pink Lemonade (6tubs/3.2oz can)
Yarn Needle
Sharp Scissors

Stitches: ch, hdc, sc, sl st, linked dc, picot.

Gauge: 13 sts x 12 rows = 3"x3"

Difficulty: MEDIUM


R1: Ch4. Work 11 Linked DC in 4th ch from hook.
Join with sl st in top fo beg ch4. (12sts)

R2: Ch3, do not turn. 2 Linked DC in next st.
2 Linked DC in ea rem st around, placing 1 more Linked Dc in same st as beg ch3.
Sl st in top of beg ch3 to join. (24sts)

R3: Ch1, do not turn.
(2sc in blo of next st. Sc in blo of next st.) around
Join with sl st in 1st sc. (36sts)

----- Begin Continuous Rounds -----

Rs 4-25: Sc in blo of ea st around, placing a marker where each new round begins.
Join with a sl st in blo of first st. (36sts)

R26: Eyelet Round:
Ch3, do not turn. Sk next st.
(Hdc in next st, Ch1, sk next st) around.
Join with sl st in 2nd ch of beg ch3.

R27: Do not turn, do not chain. Sc in next ch1 sp.
Picot. (Sc in next ch-sp. Picot) around.

Join with sl st in 1st st.

FASTEN OFF

FINISHING

1: Cut a coin slot in the lid using a scissors.

2. Insert can into cover.

3. Using the yarn needle, weave a strand of same color yarn through the Eyelet Round. Pull it snug (see photo) and tie in a bow (so you can untie later). Hide the bow by tucking it into the inside of the work along the top of the can.

Optional:
Add a flower or other applique.
