MATERIALS:
Steel Hook Size 1
#10 Bedspread Cotton
Sewing Needle & Coordinating Thread
Snap
Stitches Used: ch, sl st, sc, sc dec, hdc, dc, bpdc, fpdc.
Difficulty: EASY/ MEDIUM
Row 1: Ch 26, sc in the hump of the 2nd ch from the hook. Sc in the hump of each rem ch. Ch 3, turn.
Row 2: Dc in ea st. Ch3, turn.
Row 3: (Fpdc around next dc, Bpdc around next dc)
across to last 2 dc. Fpdc around next dc. Dc in last dc. Ch 3, turn.
Row 4: Fpdc around each fpdc and bpdc around each
bpdc. Dc in last dc. Ch 3, turn.
Rows 5-19: Rep Row 3.
Row 20: Rep Row 3 except ch 1 at the end.
Row 21: Sc in each st. Ch 2, turn.
EDGE: Hdc in each st, place 2 hdc around the post of each dc on the sides and 3 hdc in each corner sp. Join with sl st in top of beg ch-2. Fold the piece in half with the first and last rows together. Sc in the first two corresponding stitches. With each two corresponding stitches side by side, sc in the inner loops only leaving the outer loops unworked.
CLOSURE TAB
Row 1: Work 6 sc in both loops of the center 6 sts on one side of the top opening. Ch 1, turn.
Rows 2-4: Sc in each st. Ch 1, turn.
Row 5: (Sc dec over next 2 sts) 3 times. Ch 1, turn.
Row 6: Sc dec over last 3 sts.
Fasten Off. With a scrap of thread, whip stitch around the tab to secure the edges and lend a neater appearance.
