MEASURES APPROXIMATELY
3" INCHES LONG. |
The following pattern is my original design.

MATERIALS:
Hook: Size F
Yarn: Bernat Baby Fingering Weight Yarn (this yarn is 3 ply but very thin)
Yarn Needle
Cording or Ribbon (2-16" pieces)
Sewing needle and coordinating thread
Stitches used: ch, sl st, sc, sc dec, dc, fpdc, bpdc.
FL = Front Loop
Gauge: 5 sc per inch.
Difficulty: EASY
(Don't forget to make 2 ;o)
ROW 1: Ch 30, sc in 2nd ch from hk and in each rem ch. Ch 1, turn.
ROW 2: 2 sc in FL only of same st as turning ch. Sc in FL only of each st across to last st. 2 sc in FL only of last st. Ch 1, turn.
ROW 3: Sc in FL only of each st. Ch 1, turn.
ROWS 4-7: Rep Row 3.
ROW 8: Working in FL's only for this row. Sc Dec over next 2 sts. Sc in each rem st across to last 2 sts. Sc Dec over last 2 sts. Ch 1, turn.
ROW 9: Sc in FL only of each st.
FASTEN OFF leaving a 10" strand of yarn to be used for sewing.
Fold piece with short sides together. Thread the 10" strand of yarn through the yarn needle and stitch the short sides together. Also stitch along the foundation chain, joining the corresponding sts.
FASTEN OFF.
< CUFF >
Reattach yarn at the point where you fastened off earlier. Sl st the outside loops tog of the first 6 corresponding sts. Ch 3, Do Not Turn.
ROW 1: Dc in the FL of each st around the opening. Do Not Join. Ch 3, turn.
ROW 2: *Fpdc around post of next dc. Bpdc around post of next dc. Rep from * around. Do Not Join. Ch 4, turn.
ROW 3: Sc in FL only of next st. * Ch 4, sc in FL only of next st. Rep from * around.
FASTEN OFF.
< TIE STRING >
I used a shiny cord for the tie but you can use a crocheted string or a ribbon. Cut a 16" piece for each bootie and weave it in and out of the stitches on the first row of the cuff.
Using the sewing needle and coordinating thread, stitch the center of the tie string in place so the baby cannot pull it free from the bootie.
