MATERIALS:
Hook: Size G (Boye)
Yarn: Lily Sugar 'N Cream (100% Cotton- 4 ply) (Red)
Brown for Stem (I used a 4 ply acrylic)
Stitches used: ch, sl st, sc, sc dec, hdc, dc.
Difficulty: EASY to MEDIUM
NOTE: ENTIRE PATTERN IS WORKED HOLDING TWO STRANDS
ROW 1: Ch 8, sc in 2nd ch from hk and in next 2 chs. 2 sc in next ch. sc in each of the last 3 chs. Ch 1, turn.
ROW 2: Sc in next 3 sts. 2 sc in each of next 2 sts. Sc in each of last 3 sts. Ch 1, turn.
ROW 3: Sc in next 2 sts. Sc dec over next 2 sts. *2 sc in next st. Rep from * once. Sc dec over next 2 sts. Sc in next 2 sts. Ch 1, turn.
ROW 4: 2 sc in next st. Sc in next 3 sts. 2 sc in next 2 sts. Sc in next 3 sts. 2 sc in next st. Ch 2, turn.
ROW 5: Hdc in next 4 sts. Sc in next 4 sts. Hdc in last 5 sts. Ch 2, turn.
ROW 6: Rep Row 5.
ROW 7: Rep Row 5, except chain 1 before turning.
ROW 8: Sc in next 2 sts. Hdc in next 3 sts. Sc in next 4 sts. Hdc in next 3 sts. Sc in next 2 sts. Ch 1, turn.
ROW 9: Sc dec over next 2 sts. Sc in next st. Hdc in next st. Dc in next st. Hdc in next st. Sc in next 2 sts. Hdc in next st. Dc in next st. Hdc in next st. Sc in next st. Sc dec over last 2 sts. Ch 1, turn.
ROW 10: Sc in next st. Hdc in next st. Dc in next st. Hdc in next st. Sc in next st. Sl st in next 2 sts. Sc in next st. Hdc in next st. Dc in next st. Hdc in next st. Sc in next st.
Do Not Fasten Off/
BORDER: Sc evenly around entire apple coaster placing 3 sc on each end of the foundation row and working a sl st in each of the 2 sl sts on Row 10. Sl st to join.
FASTEN OFF.
STEM: Attach brown yarn (this can be cotton or acrylic) in one of the sl sts on the top of the coaster. Ch 4, sc in 2nd ch from hk. Sl st in each rem ch. Sl st in same st as joining.
FASTEN OFF.
