I changed colors when I was close to running out of one color and my Niece said that made the rug look off balance. Haley liked it that way so I went with it. The border color was an orange like color but it looks pink in the picture. Feel free to change colors or make it solid.

Measures approximately
16-1/4" wide x 26-1/2" long


The following pattern is my original design.

MATERIALS:

Bernat Baby Coordinates (White)
Red Heart Super Saver-4ply WW Yarn   (Multiple Colors)
Hook Size K

Stitches: ch, sc, tr, sl st.

Difficulty:  EASY/MEDIUM

NOTE: Entire pattern is worked holding two strands together.


R1: With one strand of Bernat Baby Coordinates (I used white throughout)
and one strand of Red Heart (I changed colors when I ran out) held together,
ch40, sc in the hump of the 2nd ch from the hook. Sc in the hump of ea rem ch.

R2: Ch1, turn. Sc in ea sc.

R3: Ch1, turn. Sc in next 2 sc. (Tr in next st, sc in next st) across. Sc in last st.

R4: Ch1, turn. Sc in ea st.

Rep Rs 3&4, keeping the white Bernat Baby Coordinates but changing the color of the Red Heart yarn as you prefer.

Fasten off when piece measures 14" x 23" long.

BORDER

R1: Change the Red Heart color again. Holding the bumpy side facing you, sc evenly around the entire rug placing one sc in ea st, one sc in ea row end and 3sc in ea corner. Join with sl st.

Rs2-3: Ch1, do not turn, sc in ea st, placing 3sc in ea corner. Join with sl st.

Fasten off.
