Give ear to my prayer, O God; and do not hide Thyself from my supplication. Give heed to me, and answer me; I am restless in my complaint and am surely distracted, because of the voice of the enemy, because of the pressure of the wicked; for they bring down trouble upon me, and in anger they bear a grudge against me. My heart is in anguish within me, and the terrors of death have fallen upon me. Fear and trembling come upon me; and horror has overwhelmed me. And I said, "Oh, that I had wings like a dove! I would fly away and be at rest.
Psalm 55:1-6
And it shall be, that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Acts 2:21
Let your character be free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, "I WILL NEVER DESERT YOU, NOR WILL I EVER FORSAKE YOU," so that we confidently say,, "THE LORD IS MY HELPER, I WILL N0T BE AFRAID. WHAT SHALL MAN DO TO ME?"
Hebrews 13:5-6
Therefore encourage one another, and build up one another, just as you also are doing.

Hump of the Chain
When you make a foundation chain for a project, the stitches for the first row of that project are normally worked in the top loop of each chain.
So what is the "hump"?
Each crocheted chain has a top loop and a bottom loop on the front side and on the back there is a little "hump". So, when you make a foundation chain (the chains made to begin your project) the front side of the chain will look like little hearts sitting on top of each other. When you flip the chain over to the back side it looks like a little row of humps.
When the stitches are worked into the hump of each chain along the foundation... the edge will look firmer because it will have what appears to be a chain along that edge.

Scrap Yarn Ideas ...
do you have number 53?
51. Crochet a rectangle
of about 3" by 6". Sew along 2 sides making a sack. Fill with your favority
potpourri to make a sachet. The top can either be sewed or weave a piece of
yarn around top and pull closed like a drawstring so it can be refilled. These
are nice to put in clothing drawers, hang in closets, use as party favors or
put in gift boxes.
Thank you so much for your site, I enjoy the information you share with us.
Ginger from Ohio
52. Our local wildlife refuge
receives approximately 2500 orphaned baby critters each year, all in need of
a warm place to live. With my scraps, I crochet baby nests. I make a 10 inch
by 20 inch rectangle, fold it in half and crochet up two sides. Since I tend
to crochet loosely, I use an "h" hook with the four-ply yarn. The nests don't
have to be pretty, I've used up to 5 small balls of left over yarn for one nest.
I have literally used up all my scarp yarn and have had to go to the local thrift
shop and yard sales to get more.
Yours truly, Donna Lee Rogers

Hello, and Greetings from Wyoming! I came across your "Soldier's Prayer Stone" project and absolutely love it!! It is a truly wonderful gift for all our soldier's abroad. However, I do not know or understand how to crochet, and was wondering if this project could be done with plastic canvas - (as plastic canvas is my craft.) If you should happen to know how I could do this by way of plastic canvas, I would greatly appreciate it, as I would love to make shipments of these to send to our soldiers. Most Sincere thanks. Toni

Thank you very much Toni.
You could make a little box using plastic canvas
(instead of a tiny bag using floss) and put the stone inside that.
RE: Loaf Pan Tote
I am so excited about finding this pattern. I was wondering if you have one for a pan 9 x 13. My friend and I would love to do a larger one for the many gathering we attend at church and family. Debbie

I don't have one on my

Hi, I am attempting to
crochet a baby beanie from your
site.
It's this one: www.crochetnmore.com/babybeanie.htm
The instructions say to crochet bet stitches....I don't understand the bet....if
it means between,
I really don't understand how there is anyplace to put a stitch between other
stitches...Please explain????? Thanks so much! Barbara
<< Reply >>
Yes... bet is between. Visualize a double crochet stitch looking like a little fence post... instead of working into the top of the stitch like we normally do, you work between two posts.
Hi Lisa, I was just wondering
how long did it take you to make your dog sweater. It took me only a day and
I am only 12 years of age. Thanks for the instructions.

Dear Casey:
If I remember correctly, the sweater design took about a day.
I could make one in an evening I guess... haven't tried that pattern personally
in a long time.
Sadly, Schotzi (below pix) passed away a few years ago.
We have another Miniature
Schnauzer now
but he doesn't seem very fond of wearing clothes :o)

His name is Sawyer.
I'm so glad you enjoyed
my dog sweater pattern.
If you'd like to send me a photo of your dog wearing
the sweater I'll add the photo to The Dog House:

your site have given me ideas and instructions to start creating new enjoyable items. thank you

I feel so bad that that one person wrote in saying she couldn't find anything 'free' on your website and felt you were just directing people to buy stuff. She can't be looking correctly at the newsletter - which is full of free patterns and links to other free sites for patterns. Not only does it have member patterns available, but when someone asks a question - you direct them to a link for a free pattern (for instance the lady who asked about flowers - a wonderful page came up with all kinds of free flower patterns). I hope that person takes a second, better look at the newsletter in its entirety and changes her mind. Just the fact that she is getting the whole newsletter for free online should show her the error of her ways. Nancy
Anyone out there can do all manner of vulgar things and put it on the internet, but you are not encouraged to say the name of Jesus in your own private website! The "lady" who objected so rudely to your format needs to know all she has to do is click on "close". I may not find much that I want to attempt, but love to at least read your very informative magazine. I find lots and lots of free patterns and have used many of the quick and easy ones for coasters, dollies, dishrags and such for gifts. Thank you, God Bless you and carry on!! Joan Rogers
Just found this site while looking for a snood pattern for my dog to wear while eating (to keep her ears out of her food). Look forward to exploring more here, but does anyone have a pattern for a doggie snood? Barb
I
found a picture of a dog snood here:
http://blog.dogmoda.co.uk/2007/01/name-tassels-and-snoods.html
I believe any tubular style scarf would work well for this as long as
you make a ribbing around the edges so it will stay in place on the dog's
head.
A wonderful site I have
wanted to crochet for years and your site has set me on my path, thank you
Sharon
Just found this site and
find it fascinating.
I'm new to crochet and looking for a jacket to crochet. Any hints? God Bless.
Merianne
<< reply >>
You can find links to many crocheted jacket patterns via this page: http://www.crochetpatterncentral.com/directory/womens_coats_jackets.php
The best hint I can give you is "read the entire pattern first" before you decide whether or not to make it. This way you can be sure you understand the terminology.
I can't thank you enough for this site. I recently retired from full time nursing and decided I needed something to do with my hands, so I turned to crochet. I knew how to chain and sc but was having such trouble with reading directions. Finding the "Basic Stitches" was a Godsend, I just added it to my favorites and now when I get a little confused or unsure, I just pull up the site. I am having so much fun crocheting, I'm even starting Christmas gifts in July. Thanks again and May God Bless all of you. Connie

I have to tell you about this new book.
SweaterBabe.com's Fabulous & Flirty Crochet
I'm so happy to have it in my crochet library.
Katherine Lee has an eye for style and a definite knack for creating beautiful
crochet patterns.
I was really happy with the large colorful project photos.
There's something for everyone!
The aspect of Fabulous and Flirty Crochet that stood out to me was the section
on the yarns used in the patterns.
One page shows "actual size" photos of the yarns which makes it super
easy to substitute other yarns if you want to.
For those who stay strictly to the recommended yarn in a pattern Katherine has
included a yarn resource list.
The projects are very fashionable and perfect for gift giving... though I'm
sure you'll have to make something for yourself :o)
I can't wait to try the Flirty Skirt and the Ruffled Strap Tank.

When I had my 50th birthday my husband said to me "I should trade you in for two 25 year olds." I replied "Thank you for the compliment." With a stunned look on his face, he said "HUH?" I responded "You are telling me it would take two women half my age to accomplish what I do." - Roberta Gleason
Mama was making pancakes for her two sons, Morrie age 5 and Stanley age 3. The boys began to argue who should get the first pancake.
"Shame on you, boys. If King Solomon, the wise king, were here, he would say, let my brother have the first pancake."
Morrie looked at Stanley and said,"O.K., you be King Solomon today."
All eyes were on the radiant
bride as her father escorted her down the aisle.
They reached the altar and the waiting groom; the bride kissed her father and
placed something in his hand.
The guests in the front pews responded with ripples of laughter.
Even the priest smiled broadly.
As her father gave her away in marriage, the bride gave him back his credit
card.
After watching the movie Cinderella, five-year-old Sarah started using her pinwheel as a magic wand, pretending she was a fairy godmother. "Make three wishes," she told her mother, "and I'll grant them."
Her mom first asked for world peace. Sarah swung her wand and proclaimed the request fulfilled.
Next, her mother requested for a cure for all ill children. Again, with a sweep of the pinwheel, Sarah obliged.
The mother, with a glance
down at her rather ample curves, made her third wish,
"I wish to have a trim figure again."
The miniature fairy godmother started waving her wand madly.
"I'll need more power for this!" she exclaimed.
Two men were talking.
The first says, "My wife has the worst memory I ever heard of."
The second man replies, "Forgets everything, eh?"
"No, she remembers everything."
When we put our house up for sale, I stressed emphatically that my sons make their beds each morning.
I left for work before they left for school, and I wanted to be sure that the house looked presentable when the agent showed it to prospective buyers.
I was surprised and impressed that my 15-year-old son's bed was perfectly made each day.
One night when I went into his room, I discovered his secret.
He was fast asleep on the floor in his sleeping bag.
911 Call: A man called 911
and spoke frantically into the phone,
"My wife is pregnant and her contractions are only two minutes apart!"
"Is this her first child?" the dispatcher asked.
"No, you idiot!" the man shouted, "This is her husband!"
A young woman wasn't feeling well, and asked one her co-workers to recommend a physician.
"I know a great one in the
city, but he is very expensive.
Five hundred dollars for the first visit, and one hundred dollars for each one
after that."
The woman went to the doctor's
office and, trying to save a little money, cheerily announced.
"I'm back!"
Not fooled for a second,
the doctor quickly examined her and said,
"Very good, just continue the treatment I prescribed on your last visit."
Burglars broke in to an unoccupied house that was being renovated for sale recently. Among the items they stole were Roofing shingles, A lawn Mower, weed whackers and lumber.
They broke into a storage area under the deck and also a shed in the back. Before leaving though they mowed the lawn of the residence.
Neighbors report seeing strange men walking around the home, but never calling the police because they figured they were hired to do the lawn.
The owners are quoted as saying they will leave a pressure washer and painting equipment for the thieves next week as they did a better job than the lawn care company they had hired, and cheaper also.
A couple phoned a neighbor to extend birthday greetings. They dialed the number and then sang "Happy Birthday" to him. But when they finished their off-key rendition, they discovered that they had dialed the wrong number.
"Don't let it bother you,"
said a strange but amused voice.
"You folks need all the practice you can get."
"Dad," said Little Johnny,
"I'm late for football practice.
Would you please do my homework for me?"
The father said irately, "Son, it just wouldn't be right."
"That's okay," replied Little Johnny, "but you could at least give it a try, couldn't you?"
