WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT

We do not need a pulpit From which to speak God's Word;
It only takes our willingness
To share what we have heard. Sper

Praise the Lord!
How blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who greatly delights in His commandments. His descendants will be mighty on earth; the generation of the upright will be blessed. Wealth and riches are in his house, and his righteousness endures forever. Light arises in the darkness for the upright; He is gracious and compassionate and righteous. It is well with the man who is gracious and lends; he will maintain his cause in judgment. For he will never be shaken; the righteous will be remembered forever. He will not fear evil tidings; his heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord. His heart is upheld, he will not fear, until he looks with satisfaction on his adversaries. He has given freely to the poor; his righteousness endures forever; his horn will be exalted in honor. The wicked will see it and be vexed; he will gnash his teeth and melt away; the desire of the wicked will perish.

Psalm 112

Preach the Word! Be ready in season and out of season.

2 Timothy 4:2

You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden.

Matthew 5:14

Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His lovingkindness is everlasting. O let Israel say, "His lovingkindness is everlasting." O let the house of Aaron say, "His lovingkindness is everlasting." O let those who fear the Lord say, "His lovingkindness is everlasting." From my distress I called upon the Lord; the Lord answered me and set me in a large place. The Lord is for me; I will not fear; what can man do to me? The Lord is for me among those who help me; therefore I shall look with satisfaction on those who hate me. It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man. It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in princes.

Psalm 118:1-9

How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping it according to Thy word. With all my heart I have sought Thee; do not let me wander from Thy commandments. Thy word I have treasured in my heart, that I may not sin against Thee. Blessed art Thou, O Lord; teach me Thy statutes. With my lips I have told of all the ordinances of Thy mouth. I have rejoiced in the way of Thy testimonies. As much as in all riches. I will meditate on Thy precepts, and regard Thy ways. I shall delight in Thy statutes; I shall not forget Thy word.

Psalm 119:9-16

"GOD SOMETIMES PUTS US IN THE DARK
TO SHOW US THAT JESUS IS THE LIGHT."

This quote is from Our Daily Bread - May, 2005 Issue.

"For where two or three have gathered together in My name, there I am in their midst." Matthew 18:20

FREE FORM CROCHET

Question:

I would like to know what free form crochet is.
I liked your web site I found a lot of helpful hints.
I all so teach crochet this has given me some wonderful ideas.
I want to help kids learn I have not done that before.
Thank you
Ann Cox

Answer:

Free Form Crochet doesn't require a "pattern".
You make a crocheted fabric using any stitch or combination of stitches you want.
You can read more here:
http://www.freeformcrochet.com/

Notice some of the creations on this page:
http://www.freeformcrochet.com/designs.html
these are made by using alot of smaller crocheted pieces to form a larger item.

You can purchase a book called "The Crocheter's Art: New Dimensions in Free-Form Crochet" here:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0385051344/crochetnmore/104-5419168-5066362

CROCHET TIP

If you have trouble holding your hook steady, try wrapping a rubber band around the handle.

If you don't have any stitch markers, use a bobby pin or a strand of a contrasting color of yarn.

HUMOR

At Andersen Air Force Base, Guam, a man in civilian clothes approached an airman and requested a vehicle pass. The young airman, fresh out of technical training, asked to see his military ID, driver's license and his vehicle registration. Noticing the letters BG on the man's identification, the new airman asked, "What's BG stand for -- Big Guy?" "No," the man replied, leaning over the counter. "Try Brigadier General."

Did you hear of the little boy who came home from kindergarten with a blue ribbon. When his mommy asked him "What is the blue ribbon for?" he proudly announced, "I won!" When pressed for details he simply said, "The teacher asked all of us to guess how many legs a cow has. When my turn came, I guessed FIVE." "Five???" his mother gasped, "but a cow only has FOUR legs." "I won because my guess was the closest."

Mother decided that 10-year-old Cathy should get something 'practical' for her birthday. "Suppose we open a savings account for you?" mother suggested. Cathy was delighted. "It's your account, darling," mother said as they arrived at the bank, "so you fill out the application." Cathy was doing fine until she came to the space for 'Name of your former bank.' After a slight hesitation, she put down 'Piggy.'

A grandfather bought a hobby horse by mail order as a birthday present for his granddaughter. The toy arrived in 189 pieces. The instructions said that it could be put together in an hour. However it took the man two days to assemble the toy. Finally, when it was all put together, he wrote a check, cut it into 189 pieces and mailed it off to the company.

A little girl went up to her mother one day while holding her stomach saying, "Mommy, my stomach hurts." Her mother replied, "That's because it's empty. You have to put something into it!" She then prepared a bowl of soup. Later that day the pastor and his wife came over for dinner. The pastor began to feel bad. Holding his head he said, "I have such a terrible headache!" The little girl looked up at him, giving him the sweetest smile that any little child could give. Then she said, "That's because it's empty. You have to put something into it!"

While riding the bus, my mother noticed a young man, who was holding onto the same pole, staring at her. Eventually, he said, "Excuse me. This is my stop." Since she wasn't blocking his way, she was confused. "Well," she said, "go ahead." "And this is my pole," he said. My mother was completely perplexed until the young man added, "I just bought it at the hardware store to hold up my shower curtain." And with that, he picked up his pole and carried it off the bus.

After living in our house for four years, we were moving out of state. My husband had backed the truck up to our garage door so that we could start loading all of the boxes. Just then one of our neighbors came walking across the lawn carrying a plate full of muffins. "Isn't that thoughtful," my husband said to me. "They must have realized that we packed our kitchen stuff." The neighbor stuck out his hand and boomed, "Welcome to the neighborhood!"

A Texan was taking a taxi tour of London and was in a hurry. As they went by the Tower of London the cabbie explained what it was and that construction of it started in 1346 and was completed in 1412. The Texan replied, "Shoot, a little ol' tower like that? In Houston we'd have that thing up in two weeks!" Next they passed the House of Parliament - started in 1544 and completed in 1618. "Well boy, we put up a bigger one than that in Dallas and it only took a year!" As they passed Westminister Abbey the cabbie was silent. "Whoah! What's that over there?" asked the Texan Cabbie: "I don't know, it wasn't there yesterday."
