The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. For by me your days will be multiplied, and years of life will be added to you.
Proverbs 9:10-11
The fear of the Lord prolongs life, but the years of the wicked will be shortened. The hope of the righteous is gladness, but the expectation of the wicked perishes. The way of the Lord is a stronghold to the upright but ruin to the workers of iniquity. The righteous will never be shaken, but the wicked will not dwell in the land. The mouth of the righteous flows with wisdom, but the perverted tongue will be cut out. The lips of the righteous bring forth what is acceptable, but the mouth of the wicked, what is perverted.
Proverbs 10:27-32
He who speaks truth tells what is right, but a false witness, deceit. There is one who speaks rashly like the thrusts of a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing. Truthful lips will be established forever, but a lying tongue is only for a moment. Deceit is in the heart of those who devise evil, but counselors of peace have joy. No harm befalls the righteous, but the wicked are filled with trouble. Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, but those who deal faithfully are His delight.
Proverbs 12:17-22
From the fruit of a man's mouth he enjoys good, but the desire of the treacherous is violence. The one who guards his mouth preserves his life; the one who opens wide his lips comes to ruin. The soul of the sluggard craves and gets nothing, but a wicked man acts disgustingly and shamefully.
Proverbs 13:2-6
"WISDOM IS KNOWING WHEN TO SPEAK YOUR MIND AND WHEN TO MIND YOUR SPEECH. ."
This quote is from Our Daily Bread - February, 2003 Issue.

CROCHET TIP:
If you use a yarn needle to weave in those pesky yarn ends you'll love this tip. Put a wire bread or garbage tie through the eye of the yarn needle and bend it double. This will help you find the needle easier in your project bag.

Subject: Error In Christmas Tree Air Freshener
Did not find an error, but just wanted to tell you how CUTE this is.
I plan to make it next Christmas, and maybe even do one in colors for springtime!
Jeannie
< reply >
Thanks Jeannie... that's a great idea... if you make it in the spring
colors you could use it for easter. You could add little easter
buttons for decorations and maybe a little rabbit on the top :o)
Thank you, first off, for this pattern. I made two of them for my great-aunts to go along with their Christmas presents this year. They both liked them. I think they're glad that someone else in the family is still crocheting. The only problem I had with the pattern is that it took 17 rows instead of 13 for me. It may have been that I bought a slightly bigger pocket tissue brand. Other than that, the pattern was wonderful. It took very little time to make. Heck, it was just plain fun.
Sincerely,
Paula McCurry
Re: your website
I love this site. How nice of you to provide this information.
I volunteer on the local First Aid Squad and the crew of ladies sit down here
when there are no calls and we crochet. I found your website, showed it to
them and they just went nuts!
Thanks for keeping us busy and interested!
Keep up the good work.

* My Pet Peeve:
By Cylinda Mathews
My personal pet peeve is to find an error at the very end of
a big pattern. About 6 years ago, I chose a lovely tablecloth
pattern from either a Magic or Decorative Crochet magazine
to make for my mom. On the last two rnds, after months of
working on this cloth, I found an error. Because these patterns
are in symbol crochet, and the edge of the cloth was hidden in
the picture, I had to design my own edging. My other pet peeve
is an error at the very beginning. If you can't figure it out, or
contact the designer, you can't even begin!

Entering The Hospital
In the admitting office of our hospital, some patients were filling out
forms, others were being interviewed and still others were being escorted
to their rooms.
An elderly woman hesitantly entered my cubicle.
She had completed her admitting forms and, upon my request, handed me her
insurance cards.
I typed the necessary information and then asked her the reason for her
coming to the hospital.
"Just to visit a friend," she said, "but I'm not sure I have time now."
A strong young man at the construction site was bragging that he could
outdo anyone in a feat of strength. He made a special case of making fun
of Morris, one of the older workmen. After several minutes, Morris had
enough.
"Why don't you put your money where your mouth is?" he said. "I will bet a
week's wages that I can haul something in a wheelbarrow over to that
outbuilding that you won't be able to wheel back."
"You're on, old man," the braggart replied. "It's a bet! Let's see what
you got."
Morris reached out and grabbed the wheelbarrow by the handles. Then,
nodding to the young man, he said, "All right. Get in."
Once there was a little boy who lived in the country.
For facilities, they had to use an outhouse, and the little boy hated it
because it was hot in the summer, cold in the winter and stank all the time.
The outhouse was sitting on the bank of a creek and the boy determined that
one day he would push that outhouse into the water.
One day after a spring rain, the creek was swollen so the little boy decided
today was the day to push the outhouse into the creek. So he got a large
stick and pushed. Finally, the outhouse toppled into the creek and floated
away.
That night his dad told him they were going to the woodshed after supper.
Knowing that meant a spanking, the little boy asked why...
The dad replied, "Someone pushed the outhouse into the creek today. It was
you, wasn't it, son?"
The boy answered yes.
Then he thought a moment and said, "Dad, I read in school today that George
Washington chopped down a cherry tree and didn't get into trouble because he
told the truth..."
The dad replied, "Well, son, George Washington's father wasn't in that
cherry tree!!"
After a young couple brought their new baby home, the wife suggested
that her husband should try his hand at changing diapers.
"I'm busy dear," he said, "I'll do the next one."
The next time came around, and she asked again.
The husband looked puzzled. "Oh! I didn't mean the next diaper...
I meant the next baby!"
I refuse to think of them as chin hairs. I think of them as stray eyebrows.
* Janette Barber
Just as she was celebrating her 80th birthday, our friend received a
jury-duty notice.
She called to remind the people at the clerk's office that she was exempt
because of her age.
"You need to come in and fill out the exemption forms," they said.
"I've already done that," she replied. "I did it last year."
"You have to do it every year," she was told.
"Why?" came the response. "Do you think I'm going to get younger?"
