"Now it came about in those days that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus, that a census be taken of all the inhabited earth. This was the first census taken while Quirinius was governor of Syria. And all were proceeding to register form the census, everyone to his own city. And Joseph also went up from Galilee, from the city of Nazareth, to Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David, in order to register, along with Mary, who was engaged to him, and was with child. And it came about that while they were there, the days were completed for her to give birth. And she gave birth to her first-born son; and she wrapped Him in cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn."

Who reigned over Judea after Herod?
Strange how we set our clocks to arise at 4:00 a.m. or 5:00 a.m. to be
at the job by 8:00 a.m., yet when Sunday comes, we can't get to church
by 11:00 a.m. to praise the one who gave us the jobs!

Thank you so much for the doggie sweater pattern you designed and posted on the internet. I made the cutest Christmas Santa Sweater and hat. But the sweater is just adorable and fits so well. I've crocheted trims and even weaved and chain string around the neck to gather it better. I've attached a couple photos. Thank you again. Giget, my little shih tzu is just styling in her new sweater and I plan to make more.

RE: Bow Ornament
Hi - just a point of interest - for R1 you say to start with Red. Most people will think red wool, when you really mean the Red Heart wool, colour white.

Haley is my daughter... here's a photo:
Hello!
I just love this doggie sweater! I did not find any errors, just dumb I
guess. I can usually follow a design, I taught myself to crochet 30 or more
years ago, but this did not fit my chichaucha ( I never could spell that
word)!! . she is 4 months old weighs 3.2oz is 7 inches tall, 3.5 inches
from neck to legs , 10 inches around the belly and her neck measures 8
inches. I could not get the sweater on her! Well guess it would not take
long to make another one if I can get it to fit! I would like to ask a
question, where you say to half dc back and forth, do you mean from one end
to the other (I guess this is where it's making an opening? I can buy her
cute little sweaters on e-bay for less than $10, but just wanted to make her
one myself. There is a little dog like mine on the pages, wonder if that
lady has a e-mail and if she would send me the measurements she used? I
think it is wonderful people like you share your patterns without cost, that
is so gracious and I thank you.
Gerri

You're very welcome.
Working back and forth in half doubles makes the back and leaves the opening
for the front legs. All dogs are different sizes... even in different breeds. Altering
the pattern using the instructions provided will give you the best fit.

* My Pet Peeve:
By Cylinda Mathews
My personal pet peeve is to find an error at the very end of
a big pattern. About 6 years ago, I chose a lovely tablecloth
pattern from either a Magic or Decorative Crochet magazine
to make for my mom. On the last two rnds, after months of
working on this cloth, I found an error. Because these patterns
are in symbol crochet, and the edge of the cloth was hidden in
the picture, I had to design my own edging. My other pet peeve
is an error at the very beginning. If you can't figure it out, or
contact the designer, you can't even begin!

These days, I spend a lot of time thinking about the hereafter ... I go
somewhere to get something and then wonder what I'm here after.
Junk is something you've kept for years and throw away three
weeks before you need it.
The Sunday school teacher asked, "How many of you children would like to
go to Heaven?"
All raised their hands, except little Ronnie.
The teacher asked him why he did not raise his hand.
Ronnie replied. "I'm sorry, but my Mommy told me to come right home after
Sunday school."
This morning I said to my husband, "Do you know what day it is?"
Around noon, the florist arrived with chocolates and flowers. At 4:30 I got a
call informing me to not make dinner, we were "going out." After dinner we
made love by candlelight. Wow, what a Leap Day, I can't wait for our
anniversary!
After a long, bumpy flight, our passengers were glad to finally
land. They disembarked, and the other attendants and I
checked for items left behind. In a seat pocket, I found a bag
of home-made cookies with a note saying "Much love, Mom."
Quickly, I gave the bag to our gate agent in hopes it would be
reunited with its owner.
In few minutes, this announcement came over the public-address
system in the concourse: "Would the passenger who lost his
cookies on Flight 502, please return to the gate?"
A woman stood inside the front door, her arms full of coats. Four
Small children scurried around her.
Her husband, coming down the stairs, asked why she was standing there.
"Here," she said, handing him the coats,
"This time you put the children into their coats, and I'll go honk the horn."
A boy was sitting on a park bench with one hand resting on an open Bible.
He was loudly exclaiming his praise to God. "Hallelujah! Hallelujah! God is
great!" he yelled without worrying whether anyone heard him or not.
Shortly after, along came a man who had recently completed some studies
at a local university. Feeling himself very enlightened in the ways of truth
and very eager to show this enlightenment, he asked the boy about the
source of his joy.
"Hey" asked the boy in return with a bright laugh, "Don't you have any
idea what God is able to do? I just read that God opened up the waves of the
Red Sea and led the whole nation of Israel right through the middle."
The enlightened man laughed lightly, sat down next to the boy and began
to try to open his eyes to the "realities" of the miracles of the Bible.
"That can all be very easily explained. Modern scholarship has shown that
the Red Sea in that area was only 10-inches deep at that time. It was no
problem for the Israelites to wade across."
The boy was stumped. His eyes wandered from the man back to the Bible
laying open in his lap.
The man, content that he had enlightened a poor, naive young person to
the finer points of scientific insight, turned to go. Scarcely had he taken
two steps when the boy began to rejoice and praise louder than before.
The man turned to ask the reason for this resumed jubilation.
"Wow!" exclaimed the boy happily, "God is greater than I thought!
Not only did He lead the whole nation of Israel through the Red Sea, He
topped it off by drowning the whole Egyptian army in 10-inches of water!"
Bernie was invited to his friend's home for dinner. Morris, the
host, preceded every request to his wife by endearing terms,
calling her Honey, My Love, Darling, Sweetheart, Pumpkin, etc.
Bernie looked at Morris and remarked, "That is really nice, that
after all these years that you have been married, you keep
calling your wife those pet names."
Morris hung his head and whispered," To tell the truth, I forgot
her name three years ago."
