When Satan is knocking at your door, simply say
"Jesus, could you please get that for me?"
It is for discipline that you endure; God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom his father does not discipline? But if you are without discipline, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate children and not sons. Furthermore, we had earthly fathers to discipline us, and we respected them; shall we not much rather be subject to the Father of spirits, and live? For they disciplined us for a chort time as seemed best to them, but He disciplines us for our good, that we may share His holiness. All discipline for the moment seems not to be joyful, but sorrowful, yet to those who have been trained by it, afterwards it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness. Therefore, strengthen the hands that are weak and the knees that are feeble, and make straight paths for your feet, so that the limb which is lame may not be put out of joint, but rather be healed.
Hebrews 12:5-11
And Jesus answered and said to them, "Go and report to John what you hear and see: the BLIND RECEIVE SIGHT and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear, and the dead are raised up, and the POOR HAVE THE GOSPEL PREACHED TO THEM. And blessed is he who keeps from stumbling over Me.
Matthew 11:4-6
Encourage the exhausted, and strengthen the feeble. Say to those with anxious heart, "Take courage, fear not. Behold, your God will come with vengeance; the recompense of God will come, but He will save you." Then the eyes of the blind will be opened, and the ears of the deaf will be unstopped. Then the lame will leap like a deer, and the tongue of the dumb will shout for joy...
Isaiah 35:3-6

Question: Hi, I have recently come across: "HDC decrease over next 2 stitches"
Would you go over the decreasing for the different stitches, like sc, hdc, dc, tc, whatever?
Thanks,
Cindi
Answer:
HDC Decrease over next 2 stitches can also be written as hdc2tog.
Below are instructions for several decrease stitches.
DEC
DECREASE |
There are several variations of decrease stitches. Decreasing can be done by one of two methods... |
SC DEC
SINGLE CROCHET DECREASE a/k/a sc2tog |
Insert hook in next st, draw up a lp, (two lps on hk), insert hook in next st, draw up a lp (3 lps on hook), YO and draw through all 3 lps. See photo illustrations here: |
HDC DEC
HALF DOUBLE CROCHET DECREASE a/k/a hdc2tog |
Work a hdc in the next stitch without completing the very last step (keep all three loops on hook) , then hdc in the next stitch without completing the last step. You should have 5 loops on the hook then yarn over and draw through all the loops. Decrease made.
See illustrations and video here: |
DC DEC
DOUBLE CROCHET DECREASE a/k/a dc2tog |
Work a dc in the next stitch without completing the very last step (leave the last two loops on the hook), then dc in the next stitch without completing the last step. You should have three loops on the hook then yarn over and draw through all the loops. Decrease made. |
TR DEC TREBLE DECREASE a/k/a tr2tog |
Work a treble in the next stitch (without completing the last step) Work a treble in the next stitch (without completing the last step) Now yarn over and draw through all loops on the hook. |

CROCHET TIP:
If you're like me, you never use the recommended hook size for a project.
I always have several crochet projects going but don't have enough hooks to keep with each individual project.
To be sure you don't forget which size to use, include an index card with each project that states the hook size.

I've been meaning to write and say how much I look forward to your newsletter. There is so much good information and interesting patterns to try. Human nature is quick to complain but slow to compliment. So, it is time to say "Thank You" for a job well done. It is a pleasure to be able to access your newsletter online. Magazines take up so much space, although pattern books are still part of my treasured crafting library. But online, I can print out only what I need and put neatly in my pattern binders.
Thank you for the hard work that goes into compiling all this information and patterns. It is greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
LadyDye7
Being saved ourselves, I love your homepage! It's nice to see other Christians out there witnessing for the Lord. Keep it up.

Hello there...I was looking at the web for a Doggie Sweater and I came across your site. I really appreciated what I saw and did find a pattern. I think it is wonderful the way you are witnessing to everyone that goes to your site. I am a Christian and it does my heart good when I see sites such as this. May God Bless you and yours, He is faithful in all things and I give Him Praise for such a site as this.
Thank You also for the Doggie Sweater, we just recently got a part Sheltie and a chiwawa (yes I spelled it wrong) a little dog like Tim and Lil. Anyway it's so cute and always chilly, so I wanted to crochet her a little sweater. Her name is Annie. Well gotta go time for bed. Again I appreciate your site very much.

Hi:)
Thanks for your site, I love coming here!
Sarah
This web site has been so helpful. I only know two or three stitches from
childhood. We just recently lost our daughter (English 17) and to try and have
some sort of outlet, I started an afghan. My second one, the first time was 5
years ago when I had cancer.
I would like to learn a new stitch, just one at a time. Your directions are
great, even I can understand them. lol
Sincerely,
Mrs. Marine
I began to crochet when I 8 yrs. old and now here I am a grandmother and still love it. Thank you for this link I love it and enjoy it very much. The only problems I've ever had with it is that I couldn't really find anyother folks who enjoyed it as much as me untill recentely and it the in thing for our young to learn. I think thats wonderful. Its a lost art that's being saved and coming back big time in North Carolina. I am beginning a class at the community center here in our little town so I can teach others who want to get into this wonderful art. Thank you for you help and these wonderful patterns. Annie

Your site is lovely and contains a lot useful information. Jesus is my Lord and Savior also! I am still a novice and struggle with figuring out a pattern that does not have a picture of how the pieces are supposed to look, especially the armhole and neck shaping.
Bless you and keep up the good work.

Thank you for the free patterns. I love making things to give as gifts for my friends and family. Some of these patterns are quick and easy to make. And everyone that receives these gifts are so amazed that it is handmade, and a consider it keepsake. Keep up the good work.

Hi Lisa,
Just discovered your website -- very cool indeed! And how awesome to see your statement asking if Jesus is your personal Savior. I found your website through AOL while searching for a Christmas stocking pattern. I'm definitely going to put this in my "favorites" section on my computer. I had to laugh when I found your website -- I was listening to Michael W. Smith singing "Awesome God" (WOW Worship yellow) when your website opened up.
Just wanted to say hi and I'm glad to find a Christian crochet website. God bless you all!
In His service,
Pat

* My Pet Peeve:
By Cylinda Mathews
My personal pet peeve is to find an error at the very end of
a big pattern. About 6 years ago, I chose a lovely tablecloth
pattern from either a Magic or Decorative Crochet magazine
to make for my mom. On the last two rnds, after months of
working on this cloth, I found an error. Because these patterns
are in symbol crochet, and the edge of the cloth was hidden in
the picture, I had to design my own edging. My other pet peeve
is an error at the very beginning. If you can't figure it out, or
contact the designer, you can't even begin!

Why do hummingbirds hum?
They forgot the words......
One day at a busy airport, the passengers on a commercial
airliner are seated, waiting for the cockpit crew to show
up so they can get underway.
The pilot and copilot finally appear in the rear of the plane,
and begin walking up to the cockpit through the center aisle.
Both appear to be blind.
The pilot is using a white cane, bumping into passengers right
and left as he stumbles down the aisle, and the copilot is using
a guide dog. Both have their eyes covered with huge
sunglasses.
At first the passengers do not react; thinking that it must be
some sort of practical joke. However, after a few minutes the
engines start revving and the airplane starts moving down the
runway.
The passengers look at each other with some uneasiness,
whispering among themselves and looking desperately to the
stewardesses for reassurance.
Then the airplane starts accelerating rapidly and people begin
panicking. Some passengers are praying, and as the plane gets
closer and closer to the end of the runway, the voices are becoming
more and more hysterical.
Finally, when the airplane has less than 20 feet of runway left,
there is a sudden change in the pitch of the shouts as everyone
screams at once, and at the very last moment the airplane lifts
off and is airborne.
Up in the cockpit, the copilot breathes a sigh of relief and
turns to the pilot: "You know, one of these days the passengers
aren't going to scream, and we're gonna get killed!
If you love something, set it free.
If it comes back, it was, and always will be yours.
If it never returns, it was never yours to begin with.
If it just sits in your living room, messes up your stuff, eats
your food, uses your telephone, takes your money, and never
behaves as if you actually set it free in the first place, you
either married it or gave birth to it!
A guy goes to visit his grandmother and he brings his friends with him.
While he's talking to his grandmother, his friend starts eating the
peanuts on the coffee table, and finishes them off.
As they're leaving, his friend says to his grandmother,
"Thanks for the peanuts."
She says, "Yeah, since I lost my dentures I can only suck the
chocolate off 'em."
There was a beautiful young lady who was going to a soda machine
and she arrived there just before a business man coming to quench
his thirst. She opened her purse and put in 50 cents, studied the
machine a little, pushed a Diet Coke selection, and out came a Diet
Coke which she placed on a counter by the machine.
Then she reached in her purse again and pulled out a dollar and
inserted it in the machine. Studying the machine carefully, she
pushed the button for Coke Classic and out came a Coke Classic and
50 cents change.
She immediately took the 50 cents and put it in the machine, studied
it for a moment and pushed the Mountain Dew button. Out came a
Mountain Dew. As she was reaching into her purse again, the business
man who had been waiting patiently for several minutes now spoke
up.
"Excuse me Ms. but are you done yet?" She looked at him and
indignantly replied: "Well Duhhh!, I'm still winning"
A waiter brings the customer the steak he ordered with his
thumb pressed into the meat.
"Are you crazy or just stupid" yelled the customer,
"sticking your thumb in my steak?!"
"What" answers the waiter, "You want it to fall on the floor again?"
A frog telephones the Psychic Hotline and is told...
"You are going to meet a beautiful young girl who will want to
know everything about you."
The frog says, "This is great! Will I meet her at a party, or what?"
"No," says the psychic. "Next semester in her biology class."
