Deacons likewise must be men of dignity, not double-tongued, or addicted to much wine or fond of sordid gain, but holding to the mystery of the faith with a clear conscience.
1 Timothy 3:8-9
Since therefore, brethren, we have confidence to enter the holy place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He inaugurated for us through the veil, that is, His flesh, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful; and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more, as you see the day drawing near.
Hebrews 10:19-25
I urge you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.

Newest Scrap Yarn
Ideas
13. Hi Lisa I was at the fair awhile back and they were taking scraps of yarn and making what they called a Joseph's afghan. You know like Joseph's coat of many colors How they were making the afghan was you take and make a chain as long as you want it then just take a color and sc in it or I suppose your favorite stitch and it was turing out really pretty. You could use any size of ball of yarn to make they then just grab a another color keep going with the same stitch until you have it as big as you want. I bet it was be really warm also Hugs Froggie aka Norma
14. I make curtain tiebacks with scrap yarn. With four strands of worsted held together (various colors) and a size P hook, I make a couple of rows of single crochet leaving approximately 8 inch tails at each end. A single knot holds the ends in place. Another use I have for scrap yarn is to practice new knit or crochet stitches. Jean, St. Petersburg, FL.
15. Scrap yarn is wonderful to make PET afghans with......they get cool also.....These afghans can be taken to the Vet when boarding pets and a piece of home goes with the pets for their boarding cages or pens.....biggrannymini
16. Greetings! Another use
for scrap yarn is to collect it, tying all the scraps together until you have
enough to make a sweater. leave the loose ends intact, and when the sweater
is complete, you have a reversible sweater!

OMG that is too cute. Thank you for that pattern, I can’t wait to make him. (At least twice!) Tami Winbush
I have looked for a pattern like this for years... In all of my Halloween decorations I used to have a web of this magnitude (nearly 6' across in diameter) that my daughter absolutely enjoyed putting out across the front porch every year... But we lost our home to fire.. And as a surprise I would love to get this whipped out for her this year! Dee
I ran across your site, really love the patterns. I use to crochet quite a bit then quit for a while but i am expecting a new granddaughter in January and love your ideas. Jeanette Roberson

“Covering carrying yarns” in crocheting.
How do I do this or where can I find the information?

Dear Diane:

crochet projects: http://crochetnmore.com/chartcrochet.htm
Hope this helps.
i just want to thank you for posting the pattern online, it's very cute and i have a couple nieces that will love it! thanks again, cyndi
Hello I saw your site on how to make this hat but I am trying to start the first row. I dont understand what to do. If you wouldn't mind emailing me back and explaining I would appreciate it. What I am doing is making for 4 chains to start if I am doing it right its about an inch long. Then i dont understand how I get 11 DC with only 4 chains. Thank you Morgan
<< reply >>
Hi Morgan:
To begin this hat...
On Round 1 you make the 4 chains. The 11 double crochet stitches are all worked
into the 4th chain from the hook which is the very first chain you made. Then
you join with a slip stitch in the top of the beginning chain 4. When finished
you should have 12 double crochet stitches because the top 3 chains of the
beginning chain 4 count as one double crochet stitch. Hope this helps.

My name is T. Doniell Garnett and I am the youth Sunday School teacher, for The Rock of Salvation Church in Shannon NC. The class has decided to give afghans to the local nursing home. Each child was asked to collect pennies from family and friends which we used to purchase yarn. Though we have three great ladies sewing their fingers to the bone, we are falling behind schedule. We are asking for you to donate your skill. We accept afghans from 36x36 and up. If anyone would like to send a few afghans our way for the nursing home, we would greatly appreciate the help. The afghans will be given to the elderly in hope that they will warm them in the upcoming cold months. If you would consider giving afghans or the use of your skill, please email me at (blowingcmlsmoke@hotmail.com) or phone (803)865-5726 and I will send you the information where the afghans can be sent. Thank you for your consideration.
Yours truly, T. Doniell Garnett
I enjoyed browsing your

I have to tell you about this new book.
SweaterBabe.com's Fabulous & Flirty Crochet
I'm so happy to have it in my crochet library.
Katherine Lee has an eye for style and a definite knack for creating beautiful
crochet patterns.
I was really happy with the large colorful project photos.
There's something for everyone!
The aspect of Fabulous and Flirty Crochet that stood out to me was the section
on the yarns used in the patterns.
One page shows "actual size" photos of the yarns which makes it super
easy to substitute other yarns if you want to.
For those who stay strictly to the recommended yarn in a pattern Katherine has
included a yarn resource list.
The projects are very fashionable and perfect for gift giving... though I'm
sure you'll have to make something for yourself :o)
I can't wait to try the Flirty Skirt and the Ruffled Strap Tank.

A tourist asks a man in uniform, "Are you a policeman?"
"No, I am an undercover detective."
"So why are you in uniform?"
"Today is my day off."
A man was praying to God. He said, "God!?" God responded, "Yes?" And the guy said, "Can I ask a question?" "Go right ahead," God said.
"God, what is a million years to you?" God said, "A million years to me is only a second." "Hmmm," the man wondered. Then he asked, "God, what is a million dollars worth to you?" God said, "A million dollars to me is as a penny."
So the man said, "God, can I have a penny?"
And God cheerfully said, "Sure!!.....just a second."
TWO LITTLE BOYS were bragging up their grandfathers. “My grandpa made a scarecrow so fierce that it frightened every single crow off the place,” boasted Alfred.
“You think that’s something,” retorted Archie. “You should have seen the scarecrow my grandpa made. It was so fearsome that the crows brought back all the corn they stole last year!”
LITTLE JOHNNY was in his
bedroom playing with his toy fire truck when his mother walked in.
“Mom, doesn’t it say in the Bible that man was made out of dust?” he asked.
“Yes,” replied his mom.
“Is it also true that when we die, we go back to dust?” he inquired.
“Yes,” said his mom again. “Why do you ask?”
“Because I was looking under
the bed,” Johnny answered,
“and there’s someone under there either coming or going.”
The front door was accidentally left open and our dog was gone. After unsuccessfully
whistling and calling, my husband got in the car and went looking for him. He
drove around the neighborhood for some time with no luck.
Finally he stopped beside a couple out for a walk and asked if they had seen our dog.
"You mean the one following your car?" they asked.
Driving through Oklahoma, my husband and I went out of our way to stop at what was billed as the largest McDonald's in the world.
However, we were less than
thrilled when an employee addressed everyone over the intercom:
"Attention, world's largest McDonald's customers."
I pulled into the crowded
parking lot at a Super Wal-Mart Shopping Center and rolled down the car windows
to make sure my Labrador Retriever Pup had fresh air. She was stretched, full-out,
on the back seat and I wanted to impress upon her that she must remain there.
I walked to the curb backward, pointing my finger at the car and saying emphatically,
"Now you stay. Do you hear me? Stay! Stay!"
The driver of a nearby car,
a very pretty young lady, gave me a strange look and said,
"Why don't you just put it in park"?
When my daughter was about four years old, she still had a hard time grasping the concept of marriage. But anyway, I got out our wedding album, thinking visual images would help, and explained the entire service to her.
Once finished, I asked if
she had any questions, and she replied,
"Oh. I see. Is that when Mommy came to work for us, daddy?"
Annoyances
1. When something is "new and improved," which is it? If it's new, then there has never been anything before it. If it's an improvement, then there must have been something before it.
2. When people say, "Oh you just want to have your cake and eat it too." What good is a stupid cake you can't eat? What, should I eat someone else's cake instead?
3. When people say, "It's always in the last place you look." Of course it is. Why would you keep looking after you've found it? Do people do this? Who and where are they?
4. When people say, while watching a movie, "Did you see that?" No, I paid $12.00 to come to the theatre and stare at that thing over there. What did you come here for?
5. People who ask, "Can I ask you a question?" Didn't really give me a choice, did ya there buddy?
A traffic cop stopped a woman for a minor traffic violation. After examining her driver's license in silence for a moment, he said, "You know something? This is one of the finest, most realistic pictures I've ever seen. I'm glad to see you aren't one of those vain women who have their photos retouched to remove all the lines in their face."
"Sir," she replied icily, "you are looking at my thumb-print."
While waiting for my first appointment in the reception room of a new dentist, I noticed his certificate, which bore his full name.
Suddenly, I remembered that a tall, handsome boy with the same name had been in my high school class some 30 years ago. Upon seeing him, however, I quickly discarded any such thought. This balding, grey-haired man with the deeply lined face was way too old to have been my classmate.
After he had examined my teeth, I asked him if he had attended the local high school.
"Yes," he replied.
When did you graduate?" I asked.
He answered, "In 1971. Why?"
"You were in my class!" I exclaimed.
He looked at me closely and then asked, "What did you teach?"
A young lady visited a computer dating service and requested, "I'm looking for a spouse. Can you please help me to find a suitable one?"
The matchmaker said, "What exactly are you looking for?"
"Well, let me see. Needs to be good looking, polite, humorous, sporty, knowledgeable, good at singing and dancing. Willing to accompany me the whole day at home during my leisure hour if I don't go out. Be able to tell me interesting stories when I need a companion for conversation and be silent when I want to rest."
The matchmaker entered the information into the computer and, in a matter of moments, handed the results to the woman.
The results read, "Buy a television."
