For just as the lightning comes from the east, and flashes even to the west, so shall the coming of the Son of Man be. Wherever the corpse is, there the vultures will gather. But immediately after the tribulation of those days THE SUN WILL BE DARKENED, AND THE MOON WILL NOT GIVE ITS LIGHT, AND THE STARS WILL FALL from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken, and then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the SON OF MAN COMING ON THE CLOUDS OF THE SKY with power and great glory. And He will send forth His angels with A GREAT TRUMPET AND THEY WILL GATHER TOGETHER His elect from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other.
Matthew 24:27-31
But when the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit on His glorious throne. And all the nations will be gathered before Him; and He will separate them from one another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats; and He will put the sheep on His right, and the goats on the left. Then the King will say to those on His right, Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me. Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You drink? And when did we see You a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You? And when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You? And the King will answer and say to them, Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me. Then He will also say to those on His left, Depart from Me, accursed ones, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels; for I was hungry, and you gave Me nothing to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me nothing to drink; I was a stranger, and you did not invite Me in; naked, and you did not clothe Me; sick, and in prison, and you did not visit Me. Then they themselves also will answer, saying, Lord, when did we see You hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not take care of You? Then He will answer them, saying, truly I say to you, to the extent that you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me. And these will go away into eternal punishmennt, but the righteous into eternal life.
Matthew 25:31-46
For you yourselves know fuill well that the day of the Lord will come just like a thief in the night.
1 Thessalonians 5:2
This is a plain indication of God's righteous judgement so that you may be considered worthy of the kingdom of God, for which indeed you are suffering. For after all it is only just for God to repay with affliction those who afflict you, and to give relief to you who are afflicted and to us as well when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels in flaming fire, dealing out retribution to those who do not know God and to those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. And these will pay the penalty of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, when He comes to be glorified in His saints on that day, and to be marveled at among all who have believed -- for our testimony to you was believed. To this end also we pray for you always that our God may count you worthy of your calling, and fulfill every desire for goodness and the work of faith with power; in order that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
2 Thessalonians 1:5-12

Flexible Afghan Hooks
This crochet stitch courtesy of Hope & Regina
The Flexible Cro-Hooks (aka double ended cable hook)
are used with the afghan stitch. The cable between
the hooks allows for the addition of more stitches than
the shorter length hooks. The following page explains the
afghan stitch:

Here's another good tutorial:

You can purchase patterns on the following page that use
the cable hooks:

CROCHET TIP:
Make a scrap yarn rug!
Use your favorite one color afghan square pattern with
3-4 strands of yarn held together and a larger hook.
When you run out of one color... go ahead and add in a
new strand/color and keep on crocheting. Assemble squares to get
the size rug you want. Add the border of your choice, if any
and you have a nice rug and a smaller yarn stash :o) You can join
and do the border in all the same color for a different effect.
WE'RE RUNNING OUT OF STITCHES TO FEATURE!
If you have a stitch or tip you'd like to see here drop us a line and include "STITCH/TIP" as the subject.
Please include your name and/or state of residence if you'd like to be recognized for your submission.

RE: Dog Sweater
I finished the sweater in 1 afternoon for my 11 year old cairn terrier. She
loves it! She's never been a sweater wearer but I've noticed the cold
weather seems to affecting her more so I made it for her. When I took it
off to come inside she "asked" to have it put back on again. Thanks for a
great and easy pattern!

One tip is to choose one pattern that you really love and
focus on that for a while. I still do this... my last pattern
was a dishcloth. I made several dozen of them before
I stopped. It was nice to have that pattern handy by
my chair so I could always crochet something even if
I didn't have a current "large project" started.
Also... don't let pattern language intimidate you. Once
you understand the abbreviations and symbols you can
make any project out there.
If you have questions just drop me a line.
Thanks for sharing my site with others!
Lisa

I believe the best way to learn is to choose a pattern
you want to make and go for it.

* My Pet Peeve:
By Cylinda Mathews
My personal pet peeve is to find an error at the very end of
a big pattern. About 6 years ago, I chose a lovely tablecloth
pattern from either a Magic or Decorative Crochet magazine
to make for my mom. On the last two rnds, after months of
working on this cloth, I found an error. Because these patterns
are in symbol crochet, and the edge of the cloth was hidden in
the picture, I had to design my own edging. My other pet peeve
is an error at the very beginning. If you can't figure it out, or
contact the designer, you can't even begin!

After a young couple brought their new baby home, the wife
suggested that her husband should try his hand at changing
diapers.
"I'm busy," he said, "I'll do the next one."
The next time came around and she asked again.
The husband looked puzzled, "Oh! I didn't mean the next diaper.
I meant the next baby!"
Handy Guide to Modern Science:
1. If it's green or it wiggles, it's Biology.
2. If it stinks, it's Chemistry.
3. If it doesn't work, it's Physics.
The police recently busted a man selling 'secret formula' tablets he claimed gave eternal youth.
When going through their files they noticed it was the fifth time he was caught for committing this same criminal medical fraud.
He had earlier been arrested in 1794, 1856, 1928 and 1983.
When the U.S. Mint reissued two-dollar bills, I thought they might someday become collectors' items. I went to the bank and picked up a hundred, serially numbered and still in their original band. On my next trip to my parents' house, I gave the $200 to my mother and said, "Take good care of these. They might be worth something someday."
Just recently, I asked Mom if she was keeping the two-dollar bills safe.
"Oh, yes!" she replied. "I deposited them in the bank the day after you gave them to me."
How To Lie To The Bathroom Scale
1. Weigh yourself with clothes on, after dinner... as well as in the
morning, without clothes, before breakfast, because it's nice to
see how much weight you've lost overnight.
2. Never weigh yourself with wet hair.
3. When weighing, remove everything, including glasses. In this case,
blurred vision is an asset. Don't forget the earrings, these things
can weigh at least a pound.
4. Use cheap scales only, never the medical kind, because they are
always five pounds off...to your advantage.
5. Always go to the bathroom first.
6. Stand with arms raised, making pressure on the scale lighter.
7. Don't eat or drink in the morning until AFTER you've weighed in,
completely naked, of course.
8. Weigh yourself after a haircut, this is good for at least half a
pound of hair (hopefully).
9. Exhale with all your might BEFORE stepping onto the scale (air has
to weigh something, right?).
10. Start out with just one foot on the scale, then holding onto the
towel rack in front of you, slowly edge your other foot on and
slowly let off of the rack. Admittedly, this takes time, but it's
worth it. You will weigh at least two pounds less than if you'd
stepped on normally.
The little boy crawled into his Grandpa's lap. "Grandpop," he said, "were you
on Noah's Ark?"
"No, of course not," his Grandpa replied.
"Then how come you weren't drowned
As I mature, with my gray hair and character lines, I am
noticing more and more girls interested in me. One asked me,
if my hair was real. I told her, "Would anyone buy hair like
this? Another wanted to know if my teeth were mine. I told her,
"Certainly they are mine. I just made the last payment."
But, all seriousness aside, more and more girls are giving me the
once over. Once they look at me, its all over. --Lawrence Brotherton
