"Worry:
Interest paid in advance for a debt you may never owe."
Seek the Lord while He may be found; call upon him while He is near.
Isaiah 55:6
Listen to counsel and accept discipline, that you may be wise the rest of your days. Many are the plans in a man's heart, but the counsel of the Lord, it will stand. What is desirable in a man is his kindness, and it is better to be a poor man than a liar. The fear of the Lord leads to life, so that one may sleep satisfied, untouched by evil.
Proverbs 19:20-23
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
Romans 12:2
I planted, Apollos watered, but God was causing the growth. So then neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but God who causes the growth. Now he who plants and he who waters are one; but each will receive his own reward according to his own labor. For we are God's fellow workers; you are God's field, God's building. According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I laid a foundation, and another is building upon it. But let each man be careful how he builds upon it. For no man can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 3:6-11

To keep your yarn from tangling
up when you work with two skeins put one skein on each side of you.
Periodically turn your project to untwist the yarns before they become tangled.
Another Scrap Yarn Idea
I read in a book about birds that if you put scrap yarn into a mesh bag, along with hair from your hairbrush (please, no lint from your dryer), hang the bag from a tree, the birds will come and pull pieces out for building their nests. You'll get the enjoyment of watching them and they'll get some great, warm nesting material. S. Rutland North Pole, Alaska

QUESTION:
Hello! Do you have any tips on working with super bulky yarn? Sometimes its
hard to count sts and to know where to start a st.
ANSWER:
Check out this page:
http://noricum.blogspot.com/2005/02/early-wow.html
it shows how to use contrasting yarn to help you see the stitches.
I only use novelty yarns to embellish most of the time because it is so difficult
to see the stitches.
The method on that page just might change my outlook on novelty yarns :o)

Thank you so much Lisa for taking the time to email me. I really do appreciate it! I will try what you said - I've tried several other ways and well it's just not coming out to where I can do the next step. But I'll keep trying! Have a blessed day, Tamera
I was looking on-line for a pattern for a Christmas Tree hat. I saw one at a craft fair, but the lady who made it wasn't selling it (or a pattern). "It was too hard to make." I found your pattern on the web. I didn't see the Styrofoam cone at first. When I crocheted it I ended up with a wonderful scarf. Thank you. Carol

I have to tell you about this new book.
SweaterBabe.com's Fabulous & Flirty Crochet
I'm so happy to have it in my crochet library.
Katherine Lee has an eye for style and a definite knack for creating beautiful
crochet patterns.
I was really happy with the large colorful project photos.
There's something for everyone!
The aspect of Fabulous and Flirty Crochet that stood out to me was the section
on the yarns used in the patterns.
One page shows "actual size" photos of the yarns which makes it super
easy to substitute other yarns if you want to.
For those who stay strictly to the recommended yarn in a pattern Katherine has
included a yarn resource list.
The projects are very fashionable and perfect for gift giving... though I'm
sure you'll have to make something for yourself :o)
I can't wait to try the Flirty Skirt and the Ruffled Strap Tank.

When the new patient
was settled comfortably on the couch, the psychiatrist began his therapy session.
"I'm not aware of your problem," the doctor said.
"So perhaps, you should start at the very beginning."
"Of course," replied
the patient...
"In the beginning, I created the Heavens and the Earth..."
A YOUNG LADY was dating two men—a dairy farmer and a poet.
She had trouble deciding if she should marry for butter or for verse.
A church was looking for a new minister, and the selection committee finally recommended a young man just out of the seminary. Many older church members protested that a more experienced man would have been preferable.
Committee members retaliated with the argument that a younger minister might breathe fresh life into the congregation.
At the end of the meeting, I commented to an older man that this marked the beginning of better things for our church.
"Yes," he said with a wry smile. "Moving on to greener pastors."
Although fun to
visit, zoos do pose certain perils. But to whom?
A sign posted in the Knoxville Zoo in Tennessee cautioned visitors:
"Please be safe. Do not sit, climb, or lean on the zoo fences.
If you fall, animals could eat you, and that would make them sick."
Hospital regulations require a wheelchair for patients being discharged. However, while working as a student nurse, I found one elderly gentleman--already dressed and sitting on the bed with a suitcase at his feet--who insisted he didn't need my help to leave the hospital. After a chat about rules being rules, he reluctantly let me wheel him to the elevator. On the way down I asked him if his wife was meeting him.
"I don't know," he said. "She's still upstairs in the bathroom changing out of her hospital gown."
Our co-worker kept
trying to get her mother to fly out for a visit.
"No way am I getting on an airplane," was the inevitable answer.
"Look, Mom, when it's your time to go, it doesn't matter if you're on the ground or in the air."
"I know," said
her mother.
"I just don't want to be that far off the ground when it's the pilot's time
to go."
When we moved cross-country, my wife and I decided to drive both of our cars. Nathan, our eight-year-old, worriedly asked, "How will we keep from getting separated?"
"We'll drive slowly so that one car can follow the other," I reassured him.
"Yeah, but what if we DO get separated?" he persisted.
"Well, then I guess we'll never see each other again," I quipped.
"Okay," he said. "I'm riding with Mom."
An elderly parish priest was tending his garden near a convent when a passerby stopped to inquire after the priest's much-loved roses.
"Not bad," said the priest, "but they suffer from a disease peculiar to this area known as the black death."
"What on earth is that?" asked the passerby, anxious to increase his garden knowledge.
"Nuns with scissors."
I asked my mailman why my letters were all wet.
He said "postage dew".
Two keys hang in an undertaker's office - one for the organ in the chapel; the other for one of the cars in the garage.
Two small signs above the keys read
"Hymn" and "Hearse."

A rabbi said to a precocious six-year-old boy, "So your mother says your prayers for you each night? Very commendable. What does she say?" The little boy replied, "Thank God he's in bed!"

Employed by the
human-development center of a corporation in the Midwest, my friend trains employees
in proper dress codes and etiquette. One day as she was stepping onto the elevator,
a man casually dressed in jeans and a golf shirt got on with her. Thinking of
her responsibilities, she scolded,
"Dressed a little casually today, aren't we?"
The man replied, "That's one benefit of owning the company...."

The Sunday School teacher was describing how Lot's wife looked back and turned into a pillar of salt, when little Jason interrupted, "My Mummy looked back once, while she was driving," he announced triumphantly, "and she turned into a telephone pole!"
