But you followed my teaching, conduct, purpose, faith, patience, love, perseverance, persecutions, and sufferings, such as happened to me at Antioch, at Iconium and at Lystra; whta persecutions I endured, and out of them all the Lord delivered me!
2 Timothy 3:10-11
Hear a just cause, O Lord, give heed to my cry; give ear to my prayer, which is not from deceitful lips. Let my judgment come forth from Thy presence; let Thine eyes look with equity. Thou hast tried my heart; Thou hast visited me by night; Thou hast tested me and dost find nothing; I have purposed that my mouth will not transgress. As for the deeds of men, by the word of Thy lips I have kept from the paths of the violent. My steps have held fast to Thy paths. My feet have not slipped. I have called upon Thee, for Thou wilt answer me, O God; incline Thine ear to me, hear my speech. Wondrously show Thy lovingkindness, O Savior of those who take refuge at Thy right hand from those who rise up against them.
Psalm 17:1-7
Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. For by it the men of old gained approval. By faith we understand that the worlds were prepared by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things which are visible.
Hebrews 11:1-3
"IF GOD DIDN'T HAVE A PURPOSE FOR US, WE WOULDN'T BE HERE."
This quote is from Our Daily Bread - July, 2004 Issue.

Fill in the blank!
(According to James 1:23-24)
For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a ____, he is like a man who looks at his natural face in a mirror; for once he has looked at himself and gone away, he has immediately forgotten what kind of person he was.

DOUBLE CROCHET
Question:
I have been surfing the internet and looking for simple instructions on how to make a double crochet stitch. All sites I've found have only single instructions. Can you help me? Eileen
Answer:
The Double Crochet is as follows:
Yarn over and insert your hook into the stitch or space indicated, yarn over again and pull up a loop.
(You should have three loops on your hook.) Yarn over again and draw through two of the loops on the hook. (You should have two loops on your hook.) Yarn over again and draw through the last two of the loops on the hook.
You can find this and many more stitch abbreviations and instructions on my Basic page:

CROCHET TIP:
If you like to design crochet patterns... you need to make a list.
Use index cards to list things you would like to design. The list
will help you remember what you wanted to design which helps
you not waste time trying to decide what to make next.
WE'RE RUNNING OUT OF STITCHES TO FEATURE!

Instructions. I've been trying to learn to crochet for years but get confused with every source I try. Your instructions seem easy enough for even me to follow and I'm looking forward to beginning a project soon.
Thanks for this site.

I have been to this site before but did not sign the book. However this time I found something that I was very glad to see. And that is the part that shows a lost person how to become a christian, and the other bible related materials. I am a born again christian by faith, and a Southern Baptist by choice. This is the kind of thing that should be in all websites. Thank you and God Bless you.
Edwin Peace.

* My Pet Peeve:
By Cylinda Mathews
My personal pet peeve is to find an error at the very end of
a big pattern. About 6 years ago, I chose a lovely tablecloth
pattern from either a Magic or Decorative Crochet magazine
to make for my mom. On the last two rnds, after months of
working on this cloth, I found an error. Because these patterns
are in symbol crochet, and the edge of the cloth was hidden in
the picture, I had to design my own edging. My other pet peeve
is an error at the very beginning. If you can't figure it out, or
contact the designer, you can't even begin!

Tech support people like me spend our days on the phone with customers. Many like to chat while waiting for their computers to reboot. One man told me he'd been a long-haul truck driver.
I'd love to drive a big rig," I said, "but I'd worry about falling asleep at the wheel."
"Here's a tip to stay awake," he offered. "Put a $100 bill in your left hand and hold it out the window."
Why didn't the mouse cross the road?
Its cord wasn't long enough!
A young executive was leaving the office at 6pm when he found
the CEO (Chief Executive Officer) standing in front of a
shredder with a piece of paper in hand.
"Listen," said the CEO, "this is important, and my secretary
has left. Can you make this thing work?"
"Certainly," said the young executive. He turned the machine
on, inserted the paper, and pressed the start button.
"Excellent, excellent!" said the CEO as his paper disappeared
inside the machine. "I just need one copy."
A man once told his son that if he wanted to live a long life,
the secret was to sprinkle a little gunpowder on his cornflakes
every morning. The son did this religiously, and lived to be
93.
When he died, he left 14 children, 28 grandchildren, 35
great-grandchildren, and a 15-foot hole in the wall of the
crematorium.
A shoplifter was caught red-handed trying to steal a watch from
an exclusive jewelry store.
"Listen," said the shoplifter, "I know you don't want any
trouble either. What do you say I just buy the watch and we
forget about this?"
The manager agreed and wrote up the sales slip.
The crook looked at the slip and said, "This is a little more
than I intended to spend. Can you show me something less
expensive?"

Mike's grandfather clock suddenly stops working right one day,
so he loads it into his van and takes it to a clock repair
shop.
In the shop is a little old man who insists he is Swiss, and has
a heavy German accent. He asks Mike, "Vat sims to be ze
problem?"
Mike says, "I'm not sure, but it doesn't go
"tick-tock-tick-tock" anymore. Now it just goes
"tick...tick...tick."
The old man says, "Mmm-Hm!" and steps behind the counter, where
he rummages around a bit. He emerges with a huge flashlight and
walks over to the grandfather clock.
He turns the flashlight on, and shines it directly into the
clocks face. Then he says in a menacing voice... Ve haf vays of
making you tock!"
