Since then the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise also partook of the same, that through death He might render powerless him who had the power of death, that is, the devil; and might deliver those who through fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives. For assuredly He does not give help to angels, but He gives help to the descendant of Abraham. Therefore, He had to be made like His brethren in all things, that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. For since He Himself was tempted in that which He has suffered, He is able to come to the aid of those who are tempted.
Hebrews 2:14-18
Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and may find grace to help in time of need.
Hebrews 4:14-16
We know that no one who is born of God sins; but He who was born of God keeps him and the evil one does not touch him. We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one. And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us understanding, in order that we might know Him who is true, and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life. Little children, guard yourselves from idols.

Stitch Idea submitted by Tami M Pridgen
"Still having a heck of a time with afghan stitch and keeping it from rolling.
Would you put a tip about that?"
AFGHAN STITCH - Curling Problem
I haven't done alot of afghan stitch/tunisian crochet but I think if you put
a nice border around it it will help the curling parts lie flat. Of course,
this doesn't help you not be frustrated when trying to finish the project.
A lady posted the following to a list I was on some time ago:
"You can prevent it by working a row of tunisian purl stitch after the first
row of plain tunisian stitch. The TP (tunisian purl) stitch adds a nice
texture and a self made border if worked for a few rows before you begin the
pattern . remember to work few TP stitches begining and end of row to
continue on the border design. "
The following page addresses the curling problem:

CROCHET TIP:
Thanks to Laurie Butler for this tip idea.
Crocheters all crochet differently even when making the same pattern using the same hook and yarn. Your stitches may be tighter or looser than another crocheter's stitches. This does not mean you are crocheting incorrectly. As long as you can get the hook into your stitches as you work you will be fine. The only time you need to worry how tight you crochet is if you're making a project that calls for a gauge. If your pattern calls for a gauge then you need to make a swatch as indicated in the pattern and measure it. If the swatch measures correctly you keep working with the indicated hook. If not, adjust your hook size accordingly. Hook sizes are listed only as a guide.
WE'RE RUNNING OUT OF STITCHES TO FEATURE!
If you have a stitch or tip you'd like to see here drop us a line and include "STITCH/TIP" as the subject.
Please include your name and/or state of residence if you'd like to be recognized for your submission.

RE: Australia Meeting
Thank you so much for your "crochetnmore" site it is a great blessing to have a christian craft site out there, you and your husband offer such inspiration to me especially as I am going through a a few rough patches at the moment.
I was also wondering if you had a few people from your members in Brisbane Queensland Australia who maybe like to get together and maybe "help" each other with your patterns as i am not a great crocheter, and some times have some trouble with the pattern on my own.
Hoping to hear from you soon

This site is fantastic!! Just what I was looking for to give me specific details for a neophyte crocheter! Someone referred me here and I am still thanking her over and over again! Most if not all my beginner questions were answered in regard to "how to read a pattern" right here on your site. I appreciate all the time and effort you put forth in creating this site! It is wonderful.

* My Pet Peeve:
By Cylinda Mathews
My personal pet peeve is to find an error at the very end of
a big pattern. About 6 years ago, I chose a lovely tablecloth
pattern from either a Magic or Decorative Crochet magazine
to make for my mom. On the last two rnds, after months of
working on this cloth, I found an error. Because these patterns
are in symbol crochet, and the edge of the cloth was hidden in
the picture, I had to design my own edging. My other pet peeve
is an error at the very beginning. If you can't figure it out, or
contact the designer, you can't even begin!

Did you ever notice, when you are sitting at a red light, that when the

Exercising To Lose Weight
A man was showing his friend a new set of matched golf clubs
he had just bought. "Doctor's orders," the man told his friend.
"My wife and I have been gaining too much weight and we went
to see the doctor about it. He said we needed more exercise,
so I joined the country club and bought myself this set of golf
clubs."
"What about your wife?" the friend asked. "What did
you buy her?" "A new Push lawn mower," the golfer said.
There once was a rich man who was near death. He was very sad
because he had worked so hard for his money and he wanted to be
able to take it with him to heaven. So he began to pray that he might
be able to take some of his wealth with him.
An angel hears his plea and says to him...
"Sorry, but you can't take your wealth with you."
The man implores the angel to speak to God to see if He might bend the rules.
The man continues to pray that his wealth could follow him. The angel
reappears and informs the man that God has decided to allow him to take one
suitcase with him. Overjoyed, the man gathers his largest suitcase and fills it
with pure gold bars and places it beside his bed.
Soon afterward the man dies and shows up at the Gates of Heaven to greet St. Peter.
St. Peter seeing the suitcase says, "Hold on, you can't bring that in here!"
But, the man explains to St. Peter that he has permission and asks him to verify his
story with the Lord. Sure enough, St. Peter checks and comes back saying,
"You're right. You are allowed one carry-on bag, but I'm supposed to check its
contents before letting it through."
St. Peter opens the suitcase to inspect the worldly items that the man found too
precious to leave behind and exclaims - "You brought pavement?!!!"
Some men in a pickup truck drove to a lumber yard.
One of the men walked into the office and said, "We need some four-by-twos."
The clerk asked, "You mean two-by-fours, don't you?"
The man said, "I'll go check," and went back to the truck.
He returned shortly and said, "Yeah, I meant two-by-four."
"All right. How long do you need them?"
The customer paused for a moment and said, "I'd better go check."
After a while, he returned to the office and said, "A long time. We're gonna build a house..."
One afternoon a man came home from work to find total mayhem in his house.
His three children were outside, still in their pajamas, playing in the mud with empty
food boxes and wrappers strewn all around the front yard. The door of his wife's car
was open, as was the front door to the house.
Proceeding into the entry, he found an even bigger mess. A lamp had been knocked over,
and the throw rug was wadded against one wall. In the front room the TV was loudly blaring
a cartoon channel, and the family room was strewn with toys and various items of clothing.
In the kitchen, dishes filled the sink, breakfast food was spilled on the counter, dog food was
spilled on the floor, a broken glass lay under the table, and a small pile of sand was spread by the back door.
He quickly headed up the stairs, stepping over toys and more piles of clothes, looking for his wife.
He was worried she may be ill, or that something serious had happened.
He found her lounging in the bedroom, still curled in the bed in her pajamas, reading a novel.
She looked up at him, smiled, and asked how his day went.
He looked at her bewildered and asked, "What happened here today?"
She again smiled and answered, "You know every day when you come home
from work and ask me what in the world I did today?"
"Yes" was his incredulous reply.
She answered, "Well, today I didn't do it!"
Would somebody please explain to me those signs that say, "No animals
allowed except for Seeing Eye Dogs?" Who is that sign for? Is it for the
dog, or the blind person?
How come you have to pay someone to rotate your tires? Isn't that the
basic idea behind the wheel? Don't they rotate on their own?
