WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT

As Jesus was about to go up to Jerusalem, He took the twelve disciples aside by themselves, and on the way He said to them, "Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem; and the Son of Man will be delivered to the chief priests and scribes, and they will condemn Him to death, and will hand Him over to the Gentiles to mock and scourge and crucify Him, and on the third day He will be raised up."

Matthew 20:17-19

When it was evening, there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who himself had also become a disciple of Jesus. This man went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. Then Pilate ordered it to be given to him. And Joseph took the body and wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, and laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock; and he rolled a large stone against the entrance of the tomb and went away. And Mary Magdalene was there, and the other Mary, sitting opposite the grave. Now on the next day, the day after the preparation, the chief priests and the Pharisees gathered together with Pilate, and said, "Sir, we remember that when He was still alive that deceiver said, After three days I am to rise again.' "Therefore, give orders for the grave to be made secure until the third day, otherwise His disciples may come and steal Him away and say to the people, 'He has risen from the dead,' and the last deception will be worse than the first." Pilate said to them, "You have a guard; go, make it as secure as you know how." And they went and made the grave secure, and along with the guard they set a seal on the stone.

Matthew 27:57-66

"CHRIST'S RESURRECTION ASSURES WHAT CHRIST'S DEATH SECURES."

CROCHET TIP:

Use Nail Clippers instead of scissors to cut your yarn, especially if you have a small child around. You can thread a piece of yarn through the hole in the clippers and hang them around your neck. I keep a pair in my crochet hook case for times I can't seem to locate my scissors :o)

VIEWER FEEDBACK

My Suggestion/Question is:: My only suggestion is that you keep up the great work! What a wonderful, refreshing idea to combine the love of our Lord with a handicraft that so many people enjoy. I am so happy to know that, as a beginner in crochet, I can come here for help if I become stuck. And with all the trash that is available on the internet, I love knowing that there will be no trash (or advertisements for such) here!!

God bless,

Dear Lisa,

I am a beginner in the world of crocheting, it's such a shame that I waited
until I was 35 to begin this wonderful hobby! I walked into my local craft
shop and on a whim, just decided to pick out some yarn and hooks and a few
pattern books. When I got home and began trying to read the pattern
instructions, I felt overwhelmed. So I did the next best thing, I began an
afghan with a very simple single crochet stitch having given up on trying to
follow the instructions for anything else. But even with my simple stitch,
my first afghan is turning out beautifully and now, I am "hooked"!

I am so glad to find a website to help beginner's like me who want to
understand the sometimes complicated or unclear instructions found in pattern
books. I have searched and searched the internet for a website and found
nothing of help until I came across your's. I thank you for it! The
instructions and explanations that you give in "plain english" have given me
the push over the hump that I needed to keep going with this wonderful hobby.
Now my possibilities are endless!

Again, thanks for the great information and I am adding your website to my
favorites! I am sure I will visit it often!

Thank you,

Belinda Quesenberry

I love your website and I copied some of your free patterns. I have already made two items from your patterns and they turned out very nice. Thank you for letting people that love crochet to have these patterns you are a nice person. JUDY

Hello! Just wanted to thank you for the adorable pattern! I recently made
a pink one and a blue one for my "kids" (2 pomeranians). They love them!
They'll need their own closet soon!

Thanks again!

What a wonderful web site! I feel so welcome here! I feel
like I am home! I am going to have a new grandchild in
July. I finished crocheting a baby afgan and have yarn left
over, so thought I would crochet booties but can't afford to
get an instruction book right now. So, as always, faithful
Jesus helped me to come to your site by Jeeves! :-) Even
if you don't have free booties patterns (I haven't looked
yet), I will visit often. I signed up for your free Email
newsletter.

I love Jesus with my whole heart! I cannot live without
Him! I can't even tell you what a joy it was to find your
site and see "Do you love Jesus?" May the LORD bless you
and keep you and make His face shine upon you! I will tell
others of your wonderful site. Thank you for free patterns!

HUMOR

Locks on my Door...

Little Johnny's kindergarten class was on a field trip to their local police station where they saw pictures, tacked to a bulletin board, of the 10 most wanted criminals. One of the youngsters pointed to a picture and asked if it really was the photo of a wanted person.

"Yes," said the policeman. "The detectives want very badly to capture him."

Little Johnny asked, "Why didn't you keep him when you took his picture!"

A truck driver was driving along on the freeway. He passed a sign that said "low bridge ahead."

Before he knew it, the bridge was right ahead of him and he got stuck under the bridge. Cars were backed up for miles.

Finally, a police car pulled up. The cop got out of his car and walked around to the truck driver, put his hands on his hips and said, "Got stuck, huh?"

The truck driver said, "No officer, I was delivering this bridge and ran out of gas!"

A little boy was attending his first wedding. After the service, his cousin asked him, "How many women can a man marry?" "Sixteen," the boy responded. His cousin was amazed that he had an answer so quickly. How do you know that?" "Easy," the little boy said. "All you have to do is add it up, like the Bishop said: 4 better, 4 worse, 4 richer, 4 poorer."

After the christening of his baby brother in church, little Johnny sobbed all the way home in the back seat of the car. His father asked him three times what was wrong. Finally, the boy replied, "That priest said he wanted us brought up in a Christian home, and I want to stay with you guys!"

-The Sunday School Teacher asks, "Now, Johnny, tell me frankly do you say prayers before eating?" "No sir," little Johnny replies, "I don't have to. My Mom is a good cook."

-Pastor Dave Charlton tells us, "After a worship service at First Baptist Church in Newcastle, Kentucky, a mother with a fidgety seven-year-old boy told me how she finally got her son to sit still and be quiet. About halfway through the sermon, she leaned over and whispered, 'If you don't be quiet, Pastor Charlton is going to lose his place and will have to start his sermon all over again!' It worked."

A man bought a donkey from a preacher. The preacher told the man that this
donkey had been trained in a very unique way, (being the donkey of a
preacher). The only way to make the donkey go, is to say, "Hallelujah!".
The only way to make the donkey stop, is to say, "Amen!".

The man was pleased with his purchase and immediately got on the animal to
try out the preacher's instructions. "Hallelujah!", shouted the man. The
donkey began to trot. "Amen!", shouted the man. The donkey stopped
immediately. "This is great!", said the man. With a "Hallelujah", he rode
off very proud of his new purchase.

The man travelled for a long time through some mountains. Soon he was
heading towards a cliff. He could not remember the word to make the donkey
stop. "Stop", said the man. "Halt!", he cried. The donkey just kept
going. "Oh, no...'Bible!....Church!...Please Stop!!", shouted the man. The
donkey just began to trot faster. He was getting closer and closer to the
cliff edge. Finally, in desperation, the man said a prayer..."Please, dear
Lord. Please make this donkey stop before I go off the end of this
mountain, In Jesus name, AMEN".

The donkey came to an abrupt stop just one step from the edge of the cliff.

Then the man said... "HALLELUJAH!"

A large, well established, Canadian lumber camp advertised that they were
looking for a good lumberjack.

The very next day, a skinny little man showed up at the camp with his axe,
and knocked on the head lumberjacks' door. The head lumberjack took one
look at the little man and told him to leave.

"Just give me a chance to show you what I can do," said the skinny man.

"Okay, see that giant redwood over there?" said the lumberjack. "Take your
axe and go cut it down."

The skinny man headed for the tree, and in five minutes he was back knocking
on the lumberjack's door. "I cut the tree down," said the man.

The lumberjack couldn't believe his eyes and said, "Where did you get the
skill to chop down trees like that?"

"In the Sahara Forest," replied the puny man.

"You mean the Sahara Desert," said the lumberjack.

The little man laughed and answered back, "Oh sure, that's what they call it
now!"
