The following pattern is my original design.
Please only copy or print this pattern for personal use.

MATERIALS:

Bernat Baby Coordinates
Hook Size H

Gauge: 6 double crochets worked between stitches = 2"
           5 rows = 2"

Stitches: ch, dc, rev sc.

REV SC = A reverse single crochet is worked from left to right;
whereas a regular single crochet stitch is worked from right to left.
Insert your hook into the stitch or space indicated, then yarn over and pull up a loop.
(You should have two loops on your hook.)
Yarn over and draw through both of the loops on your hook.

Difficulty: EASY


Plain English instructions are written in teal.

R1: Ch4. 11 dc in 4th ch from hook. Join with sl st in top of beg ch4. (12dc) Do not turn.

This means Chain 4, then work 11 double crochet stitches in the fourth chain from the hook. Now join with a slip stitch in the top of the beginning chain 4. (you should have 12 double crochet stitches because 3 of the beginning four chains counts as one double crochet). Do not turn.

R2: Sl st bet next 2 sts. Ch3, dc in same sp. 2dc bet all other sts. (24dc) Join with sl st in top of beg ch3. Do not turn.

This means you slip stitch between the next two stitches.
Chain 3, double crochet in the same space.
Work 2 double crochets between all other stitches.
You should have 24 double crochet stitches when that round is finished.
Join with a slip stitch in the top of the beginning chain 3.
Do not turn.

R3: Sl st bet next 2sts. Ch3, dc in same sp. Dc bet next 2 sts. (2dc bet next 2 sts. Dc bet next 2 sts) around. (36dc) Join with sl st in top of beg ch3. Do not turn.

This means that on R3 you slip stitch between the next two stitches.
Double crochet stitches look like little fence posts. Work between the two posts.
Now Chain 3 and work one double crochet in the same space.
Now work a double crochet between the next two stitches
(between the posts of the stitches.)

Work two double crochet stitches between the next two stitches (as before).
Double crochet between the next two stitches
)
Repeat the instructions between the parentheses around the entire round.
When finished you should have 36 doubles.
Join with a slip stitch in the top of the beginnig chain 3. Do not turn.

Rs4-12: Sl st bet next 2 sts. Ch3 (counts as dc for this space) (Dc bet next 2 sts) around. Join with sl st in top of beg ch3. (36dc) Do not turn.

For Rounds 4-12 you do the following:
Slip stitch between the next two stitches.
Chain 3 (counts as a double crochet stitch)
(Double crochet between the next two stitches)
all the way around. Join with a slip stitch in the top of the
beginning chain 3. You should have 36 double crochet stitches
when this round is finished. Do not turn.

R13: Rev sc around placing one st bet all sts like previous rounds.

For Round 13 you work a reverse single crochet stitch in between all of the stitches as in previous rounds. Join with a slip stitch and fasten off.
