"The devil loves it when we skip church on rainy Sundays...
'Cause he knows that dry people burn faster."
(Quote sent in by Kathy Jeske)
Then the Lord God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone, I will make him a helper suitable for him." And out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the sky, and brought them to the man to see what he would call them; and what ever the man called a living creature, that was its name.
Genesis 2:18-19
And the Lord God fashioned into a woman the rib which He had taken from the man, and brought her to the man. And the man said, "this is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called woman, because she was taken out of man." For this cause a man shall leave his father and his mother; and shall cleave to his wife; and they shall become one flesh. And th eman and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed.
Genesis 2:22-25
Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her; that He might sactify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, that He might present to Himself the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she should be holy and blameless. So husbands ought also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself; for no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ also does the church, because we are members of His body. For this cause a man shall leave his father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh. This mystery is great; but I am speaking with reference to Christ and the church. Nevertheless let each individual among you also love his own wife even as himself; and let the wife see to it that she respect her husband.
Ephesians 5:25-33
"NURTURE YOUR MARRIAGE AND YOU'LL NOURISH YOUR SOUL."

I keep my collection of "free" pattern pages in one drawer of my desk (the ones you get free in the yarn section of the stores). This keeps me better organized because I toss any new patterns in the drawer instead of laying them all around the house.

I just discovered your wonderful website within the last few months and I now excitedly look forward to the 15th and 30th days of each month to receive my newsletter from you. You not only inspire me to try new crochet patterns, but you also inspire me with God's Word and your contagious love for the Lord. Thank you for bringing both joys into my life twice a month! You have been blessed with your faith and your crocheting talent and you have blessed all of us with your unselfish sharing of both. God bless you and your readership.

Hello! What an inspirational site you have! I have been looking for crochet patterns - specifically doilies or afghans. But I saw your question asking if I knew Jesus. You don't often see that on a website, so I read your testimony and was so blessed by your experience and how God is working in your life. We need more ladies like you to spread the Word and the Good News that He is real and alive and wanting to be in our everyday lives. My father was a pastor for almost 50 years, but I didn't really know Him as my personal Saviour until one day when I decided to really get a personal relationship with Him and make Him my Saviour, not just lip service. Crocheting can be a blessing in itself. God speaks to me while I'm creating a gift for someone....I try to pray for that person while I'm crocheting the doily or the afghan....or whatever it might be. Thank you for a wonderful little visit here at your website. I pray God will continue to bless and help you and some day He will reveal to you just how many souls you helped win for Him with your testimony and encouragement. God bless!

Her teenage son was having
trouble mastering the fine points of balancing his new checking account.
"The bank returned the check you wrote to the sporting goods store," she said.
"Oh good," he said, "Now I can use it to buy some stereo equipment!"
On Coast Guard cutters,
low-ranking crew members take turns in the galley helping the cooks. One young
seaman aboard was always dropping dishes and spilling food. One day, alone in
the galley, he noticed an unfrosted yellow sheet cake cooling on a counter.
Determined to rectify past errors, the seaman made chocolate icing and decorated
the cake with it. The seaman stood proudly by the dessert as the head cook returned
to the galley. Frantically, the cook began to look around.
"Where did my CORNBREAD go?" he shouted.
As the bus pulled away,
I realized I had left my purse under the seat. Later I called the company and
was relieved that the driver had found my bag. When I went to pick it up, several
off-duty bus drivers surrounded me. One man handed me my pocketbook, two typewritten
pages and a box containing the contents of my purse. "We're required to inventory
lost wallets and purses," he explained.
"I think you'll find everything there."
As I started to put my belongings
back into the pocketbook, the man continued,
"I hope you don't mind if we watch. Even though we all tried, none of us could
fit everything into your purse and we'd like to see just how you do it."
Ending his sermon, a preacher announced that he would preach on Noah and the Ark on the following Sunday, and gave the scriptural reference for the congregation to read ahead of time. A couple of boys noticed something interesting about the placement of the story in the Bible. They slipped into the church and glued two pages of the pulpit Bible together. The next Sunday, the preacher got up to read his text.
"Noah took unto himself
a wife," he began, "and she was" - he turned the page to continue -
"three hundred cubits long, fifty wide and thirty high."
Joey and his classmates
had just finished a tour of the local fire hall. Before each student could leave,
the fire chief quizzed him. The fire chief asked little Joey,
"What do you do if your clothes catch on fire?"
Joey replied promptly,
"I don't put them on."
My grandmother, who lived in Tucson, was well-known for her faith and lack of reticence in talking about it. She would go out on the front porch and say, "Praise the Lord!"
Her next door neighbor would shout back, "There ain't no Lord!"
During those days, my grandmother was very poor, so the neighbor decided to prove his point by buying a large bag of groceries and placing it at her door. The next morning, Grandmother went to the porch and, seeing the groceries, said, "Praise the Lord!"
The neighbor stepped out from behind a tree and said, "I brought those groceries, and there ain't no Lord."
Grandmother replied, "Lord, you not only sent me food but you made the devil pay for it."
When Joe's wife ran away
he got so depressed that his doctor sent him to see a psychiatrist.
Joe told the psychiatrist his troubles and said,
"Life isn't worth living."
"Don't be stupid, Joe," said the psychiatrist.
"Let work be your salvation.
I want you to totally submerge yourself in your work.
Now, do you do for a living?"
"I clean out septic tanks." Joe replied.
A teen-aged boy with spiked hair, nose ring and baggy clothes was overheard telling a friend, "I don't really like to dress like this, but it keeps my parents from dragging me everywhere with them."
