The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel: to know wisdom and instruction, to discern the sayings of understanding, to receive instruction in wise behavior, righteousness, justice and equity; to give prudence to the naive, to the youth knowledge and discretion, a wise man will hear and increase in learning, and a man of understanding will acquire wise counsel, to understand a proverb and a figure, the words of the wise and their riddles. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction. Hear, my son, your father's instruction, and do not forsake your mother's teaching; indeed, they are a graceful wreath to your head, and ornaments about your neck.
Proverbs 1:1-9
Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but he who hates reproof is stupid. A good man will obtain favor from the Lord, but He will condemn a man who devises evil.
Proverbs 12:1-2
Give thanks to the Lord, call on his name; make known among the nations what he has done and proclaim that his name is exalted.
Isaiah 12:4
As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the Lord is flawless. He is a shield for all who take refuge in him.
Psalm 18:30
Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him, on those who hope for His lovingkindness, to deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine. Our soul waits for the Lord; He is our help and our shield. For our heart rejoices in Him. Because we trust in His holy name. Let Thy lovingkindness, O Lord, be upon us, according as we have hoped in Thee.
Psalm 34:18-22
Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth. Serve the Lord with gladness; come before Him with joyful singing. Know that the Lord Himself is God; it is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people and the sheep of His pasture. Enter His gates with thanksgiving, and His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him; bless His name. For the Lord is good; His lovingkindness is everlasting, and His faithfulness to all generations.
Psalm 100
"BLESSED
IS THE NATION
WHOSE GOD IS THE LORD."

CROSSED DOUBLE CROCHET (CR DC)
Skip a stitch, work a double
crochet in the next stitch, then back up and work a
double crochet in the skipped stitch. This "crosses" the two doubles.

I keep an extra ball of
yarn (scraps work fine) and a hook in my crochet project bag.
This way, when I'm attending a family gathering or waiting in a public place,
if someone
asks me how to crochet I'm prepared to teach them using the scrap yarn instead
of
using my current project materials. Lisa

Dear Lisa , thanks for your issue no.12, it was great reading and taking down the designs , what Iappreciated most was the Bible verses along with the designs . Its a very good way to spread THE LORDS WORD .and bringing people closer to Him . Without Lords mercy we are nothing glorifying His name should be as spontanious as breathing air. looking forward to many more patterns and more LORDS WORD . THANKS ANJANA

Dear Lisa, Thanks so much for the baby hat & beenie. We have 3 pregnant girls in my office, and I need to get going!!! However, do you have a pattern of a brim cap for a baby boy? I had one for my son when he was a baby, but can't figure it out! By the way, thanks for the email, the words about Jesus and I haven't seen your testimony. Where may I find it? LInda
<< reply >>
You're very welcome Linda.
Sounds like we're both
busy with baby things...
I just finished a baby afghan for one baby shower and I have another

Re: I love your website.
The information on salvation
is the best part about the website.
Everything else is pretty cool too.

Hello, I want to thank you for creating & more so, sharing this pattern with us! Wondering what you think about doing this is a crochet nylon? I think nylon would weather better (we've had quite a bit of rain this year) and it is about the same thickness as double-strand yarn. Thanks again. All the best to you, Marleen Eckborg O'Connor
<< reply >>
You're very welcome Marleen. I haven't tried it but I believe Nylon would work great. I use my clothespin bag indoors... in my laundry room and hadn't really thought of how it would weather outdoors. When using the cotton yarn you might try spraying the bag with Scotch Guard to help keep it clean and dry.
The bag came out great. I did it in orange because when I have lines full of laundry a neutral color blends in and I have a hard time finding it sometimes. We are having sever thunder storms here today so I won't be able to try it out. Silly to say but I am anxious to use it. I usually don't make things for myself but that is changing. Thanks again. First let me say I'm so glad I found your website, as someone new to crocheting it has been a great help....Thank you !

HI. I just had a quick question my mother in law and I have a baby pattern that calls for the BABY FINGERING YARN and we have looked at WALMART as well as MICHAEL'S and have had no luck at all of finding this type of yarn. Do you have any idea where we could find it? THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR HELP, JAMIE
<< reply >>
Baby fingering weight yarn is a very thin yarn.
If the pattern you have is for an afghan you can choose the yarn you like as long as you don't mind a difference in the size of the afghan. HOWEVER, if the pattern is for a garment your best bet would be to choose a yarn you like and make a swatch to test the gauge as called for in the pattern.
If you choose to substitute a different yarn the information on this page will be useful: http://www.anniesattic.com/pages/yarn_faq.html
Hope this helps.
I love to crochet, have been crocheting since I was ten, I was home with the mumps and mom gave me something to do. Love the dog coat patterns for the little guys. Had lots of fun looking at all of the different kinds of patterns, got some great ideas.

I have to tell you about this new book.
SweaterBabe.com's Fabulous & Flirty Crochet
I'm so happy to have it in my crochet library.
Katherine Lee has an eye for style and a definite knack for creating beautiful
crochet patterns.
I was really happy with the large colorful project photos.
There's something for everyone!
The aspect of Fabulous and Flirty Crochet that stood out to me was the section
on the yarns used in the patterns.
One page shows "actual size" photos of the yarns which makes it super
easy to substitute other yarns if you want to.
For those who stay strictly to the recommended yarn in a pattern Katherine has
included a yarn resource list.
The projects are very fashionable and perfect for gift giving... though I'm
sure you'll have to make something for yourself :o)
I can't wait to try the Flirty Skirt and the Ruffled Strap Tank.

Fresh from a visit to the
dentist, I decided to stop at my bank.
Barely able to enunciate, I told the teller,
"I'm sorry about not speaking more clearly. I've had Novocaine."
"You should have used the drive-through," she said.
"Why?"
"Everyone who goes through sounds like you," she explained.
Boy #1:
Hey! Didja know that my grandfather was once face-to-face with a panther?
Boy #2:
That's nothing! My granny was once face-to-face with a lion!
It was drooling...coming closer...closer...
Boy #1:
Gosh! What'd she do?
Boy #2:
She moved away from the cage!!!!
A little girl was watching
her parents dress for a party.
When she saw her dad donning his tuxedo, she warned,
"Daddy, you shouldn't wear that suit."
"And why not, darling?"
"You know that it always gives you a headache the next morning."
A two-and-a-half-year-old
walked into the bathroom while her mother was putting on make-up.
"I'm going to look just like you, Mommy!" she announced.
"Maybe, when you grow up," her mother told her.
"No Mommy, tomorrow. I just put on that 'Oil of Old Lady' you always use."
We encouraged our 18-year-old
daughter to find a job to help pay for her college education.
One day she came home with five applications, and later that evening we read
them.
Under "Previous Employment," she listed "Baby-sitting."
And under "Reason for Leaving" she wrote, "They came home."
Six-year-old Susie came
home from school whining,
"Mommy, I've got a stomach ache."
"That's because your stomach
is empty," her mother replied.
"You'd feel better if you had something in it."
She gave Susie a snack and sure enough, Susie felt better right away.
That afternoon the family's
minister dropped by.
While he was chatting with Susie's mom, he mentioned he'd had a bad headache
all day long.
Susie perked up.
"That's because it's empty,"
she said.
"You'd feel better if you had something in it."
Jeff is an attendant in
a Laundromat.
A woman came in, sat near him, and chain smoked cigarette after cigarette.
The smoke was bothering him, so he turned on a fan.
"Could you please point
that thing in another direction?" the woman asked.
"I'm just getting over pneumonia. The last thing I need is a breeze blowing
on me."
Some guy bought a new fridge for his house. To get rid of his old fridge, he put it in his front yard and hung a sign on it saying "Free to good home, You want it you take it". For three days the fridge sat there without even one person looking twice at it.
He eventually decided that people were too un-trusting of this deal, looks to good to be true, so he changed the sign to read "Fridge for sale $5o".
The next day someone stole it.
Because I was processing my first accident report at the transport company where I worked, I was being particularly attentive. The driver had hit a deer on the highway, and the result was a severely damaged hood and fender. My serious mood was broken, however, when I reached the section of the report that asked, "Speed of other vehicle?" The driver had put, "Full gallop."
