"Little
deeds of kindness, little words of love,
help to make earth happy like the heaven above."
Julia A. Fletcher Carney
The Lord has heard my supplication, the Lord receives my prayer.
Psalm 6:9
And whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it.
John 14:13-14
Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praises. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up, and if he has committed sins, they will be forgiven him. Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much. Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain; and it did not rain on the earth for three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the sky poured rain, and the earth produced its fruit.
James 5:13-18
Give ear to my prayer, O God; and do not hide Thyself from my supplication.
Psalm 55:1
"DELAY
IS NOT DENIAL.
SO KEEP ON PRAYING."

Parentheses
& Chain Spaces
Idea
courtesy of Melissa McConkey
When a pattern has a set
of instructions within parentheses you work what is
in the parentheses where indicated just after it.
Chain spaces are the holes below the chain or series of chains made on the previous row/round.
Example :
For this set of instructions:|
Sc in ch-1 space, sc in next sc, (sc, ch 1, hdc) in ch-3 space, ch 3,
turn.
You do the following:
Work one single crochet
into the hole below the next chain stitch you made on the previous row.
Now work one single crochet in the next single crochet.
Work one single crochet, chain 1 and one half double crochet ALL in
the hole below the next 3 chains you made on the previous row. Now chain 3 and
turn.

Scrap Yarn Ideas ...
We have number 28:
28. I use scrap yarn to
make flowers (no stem or leaves) to attach to a baby afghan, either here and
there or as a grouping in one corner, attached tightly. I also will put one
flower on a baby hat. So cute!
God Bless, Sue

I was so happy to find your cape pattern. I have been trying to find on since last year. Although this is nice for a child, do you have one for an adult? If you do, please send me a copy of the pattern. Thank you Lida

This pattern is adjustable.

Repeat the increase row until the cape is the size you want... then work
the decrease row for as many rows as you want.

It is really awesome to
find someone who has created a site that allows us to get patterns for free.
I can't afford to buy very many patterns, and I am tired of making the same
old thing.
Thanks so much!!!!!!!!

Hello Lisa, Love your newsletter and always look forward to reading it and to the patterns you supply for free. Most of my crocheted items go to charity.
I saw a tip on a site not too long ago, and after seeing the tip in the current issue, the format, etc. looked like this might have been where I saw the tip I'm so desperate to find. Is there a way to go back to past newsletters so I can see if the tip IS here?
Sue

I have to tell you about this new book.
SweaterBabe.com's Fabulous & Flirty Crochet
I'm so happy to have it in my crochet library.
Katherine Lee has an eye for style and a definite knack for creating beautiful
crochet patterns.
I was really happy with the large colorful project photos.
There's something for everyone!
The aspect of Fabulous and Flirty Crochet that stood out to me was the section
on the yarns used in the patterns.
One page shows "actual size" photos of the yarns which makes it super
easy to substitute other yarns if you want to.
For those who stay strictly to the recommended yarn in a pattern Katherine has
included a yarn resource list.
The projects are very fashionable and perfect for gift giving... though I'm
sure you'll have to make something for yourself :o)
I can't wait to try the Flirty Skirt and the Ruffled Strap Tank.

Sherlock Holmes was sent to heaven to find Adam and Eve. He came back within a day and said he had found them. Watson asked, "How did you find them so quickly?"
Holmes replied, "Elementary, my dear Watson, they were the only ones that didn't have belly buttons!"
An American couple visiting a German village stepped into a small shop to look for souvenirs. The woman sneezed.
"Gezundheit!" said the clerk
"Charles," said the American woman to her husband, "we're in luck. There's somebody here who speaks English."
Gladys was the preacher's
wife and accompanied her husband each Sunday to church.
One particular Sunday when the sermon seemed to go on forever, many in the congregation
fell asleep.
After the service, to be sociable, she walked up to a very sleepy looking gentleman. In an attempt to revive him from his stupor, she extended her hand in greeting, and said, "Hello, I'm Gladys Dunn."
To which the gentleman replied, "You're not the only one!"
At my friends' wedding reception, the groom stood to say a few words. He turned to his bride's mother.
"You've given me a gift,"
he began, "a gift that..."
Here he paused, a pause that grew in length.
"That you can't return!" his mother-in-law completed.
While working as a radiology technician in a hospital emergency room, I took X-rays of a trauma patient. I brought the films to our radiologist, who studied the multiple fractures of the femurs and pelvis.
"What happened to this patient?" he asked in astonishment.
"He fell out of a tree," I reported.
The radiologist wanted to know what the patient was doing up a tree.
"I'm not sure, but his paperwork states he works for Bob's Expert Tree Service."
Gazing intently at the X-rays, the radiologist blinked and said, "Cross out 'expert.'"
A man put his fifty cents in a vending machine and watched helplessly while the cup failed to appear and a nozzle sent coffee down the drain while another poured cream after it.
"Now that's automation!" he exclaimed.
"It even drinks for you!"
Farmer Josh killed a pig and hung it up for the night, intending to butcher it in the morning, but the next day it was gone. He didn't tell a soul about it, and nothing happened for more than two months. Then another farmer, who lived down the road, came by and said, "By the way Josh, did you ever find out who stole your pig?"
"Nope," said Josh. "Not until just now."

The Law of Parenthood
A child's behavior will improve in proportion to the distance she is away from the parent.
Part of my job at the District Attorney's office is to send letters to people accused of crimes, informing them when a court date is scheduled. One such notice was returned, clearly by a criminal mastermind, with this jotted on the envelope, "I do not live here anymore."
While I was working as a pediatric nurse, I had the difficult assignment of giving immunization shots to children. One day I entered the examining room to give four-year-old Lizzie her shot. "NO! NO! NO!" she screamed.
"Lizzie," her mother scolded. "That's not polite behavior."
At that, the girl yelled
even louder,
"NO, THANK YOU! NO, THANK YOU! NO, THANK YOU!"
